NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor-General has, pursuant to section 49 of the Land Act, 1924, been pleased to reappoint:
Oswald Hugh Orr
to be a member of the Land Board of the Land District of Hawke’s Bay for a further term of two years from the 27th day of April, 1939 ;
Lewis Stanley Jellyman, and
Francis Smith
to be members of the Land Board of the Land District of Marlborough for further terms of two years from the 6th day of March, 1939, and 20th day of March, 1939, respectively ;
Bernard Ward
to be a member of the Land Board of the Land District of Westland for a further term of two years from the 8th day of April, 1939 ; and
Bennett John Moyle
to be a member of the Land Board of the Land District of Canterbury for a further term of two years from the 5th day of April, 1939.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Lawrence Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF LAWRENCE.
I HEREBY give notice that on the second day of March, 1939, a proposal was submitted by the Lawrence Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Lawrence for raising a special loan of £1,500, for the purpose of reconditioning the borough water-mains under the “Tate” process and for incidental costs, and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal were as follows :—

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Dunedin taken on the 23rd day of February, 1939, on the proposal of the Dunedin City Council to borrow the sum of £100,000 for the purpose of effecting improvements to the streets of the city :—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 4,025
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3,278
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VI, Maioro Survey District, for Sand-dune-reclamation Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for sand-dune-reclamation purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Port Waikato and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 509 acres.
Being Allotment 97, Parish of Wainku West.
Situated in Block VI, Maioro Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 29945.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 101550, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
