Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 19th December, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m., on Tuesday, 30th January, 1940.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Thursday, 1st February, 1940, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

NOTE.—This property is situated within the Hauraki Mining District and is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Ohinemuri County.—Aroha Survey District.—Hauraki Mining District.

SECTIONS 34 and 42, Block II: Area, 76 acres 2 roods 7 perches. Capital value, £75; half-yearly rent, £1 10s.

Weighted with £17 12s. 6d. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising half-share in boundary fencing, clearing, and grassing.

This is a rough grazing proposition situated on the Waita-wheta Valley Road, approximately seven miles from Waihi Post-office, Railway-station, and Saleyards, two miles from Waikino School, access being by metalled all-weather road from Waihi; cream is collected. The property consists of hilly to steep and broken country in gorse, fern, and tea-tree scrub, with patches of light bush in the gullies; about 2 acres has been cleared and is in fair pasture. The area is not suitable as a separate holding but could be used in conjunction with adjoining land, or when developed would provide a run-off for a settler on the Hauraki Plains. Gorse, blackberry, and ragwort are in evidence and require attention.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICE.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

State Forest Service,
Palmerston North, 14th December, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Palmerston North, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 10th January, 1940.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

ALL the milling-timber on that piece of land containing 216 acres in Block VI, Kaitieke Survey District, Provisional State Forest 106, situated about seven miles and a half from Owhango Railway-station.

The total estimated quantity of timber in cubic feet is 129,120, or in board feet 898,670, made up as follows:—
