NEW ZEALAND REVISED W/T SHIPPING WEATHER BULLETINS.
THE following scheme of daily shipping weather forecasts and reports originating from Wellington Radio will be instituted at 0530 G.M.T. on Monday, 1st January, 1940, and will replace the present 0930 G.M.T. bulletin issued by Station ZLW (385 kc/s, 779 m.).

Speed of sending will be not greater than twenty words a minute.
Due advice will be given by radio of the seasonal change in the afternoon message from frequency 14,850 to 7,600 kc/s, and vice versa.
Contents of Bulletin.
Part I.—“General Situation”: A brief statement in plain language of the main features of the distribution of barometric pressure in the areas adjacent to New Zealand.
Part II.—“Forecast”: Forecasts in plain language of wind, weather, visibility, and in certain cases swell, but not sea, for the ensuing twenty-four hours for each of the five areas shown on the map below. The names of the areas in the order in which the forecasts will be given are north-west, north-east, central, south-west, and south-east, respectively.
Part III.—“Station Reports”: Observations from some or all of the stations listed below, together with a selection of ships’ reports.

- Transmission will be suspended during the International Silence Period, i.e., 45–48 minutes past the hour.
