HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
STAFF.
Major H. M. Foster, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the the appointment of Area Staff Officer, No. 10 area, Christchurch, and is appointed Camp Commandant, Burnham Military Camp. Dated 4th November, 1939.
Captain C. S. J. Berkeley, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Assistant Area Officer, No. 11 Area, Dunedin. Dated 30th October, 1939.
N.Z. TEMPORARY STAFF.
Major H. G. Livingstone, V.D., The Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, to be Major, and is appointed Area Staff Officer, No. 10 Area, Christchurch. Dated 4th November, 1939.
Lieutenant A. D. Morten, The Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, to be Lieutenant, and is appointed Adjutant, The Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry, Christchurch. Dated 2nd November, 1939.
THE CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY.
Lieutenant H. J. Talbot is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 7. Dated 6th November, 1939.
QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant P. H. Surrey to be Captain. Dated 8th August, 1939.
Lieutenant D. L. Broome, from The Manawatu Mounted Rifles, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 14th September, 1934. Dated 6th November, 1939.
2nd Lieutenant C. L. Sommerville, from the Manawatu Mounted Rifles, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority from 1st September, 1938. Dated 8th November, 1939.
THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain E. W. Hayton, The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), is attached under the provisions of paragraph 141, Regulations for the N.Z. Military Forces, 1927. Dated 3rd November, 1939.
