BAY OF ISLANDS ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION AMENDING SPECIAL RATE.
Special Loan (1938), £200,000.
WHEREAS on the 27th day of May, 1938, a resolution was duly passed by the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board making a special rate of twopence three farthings in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Bay of Islands Electric-power District for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two hundred thousand pounds (£200,000) authorized to be raised by the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board for the supply and distribution of electric power to the Bay of Islands Electric-power District and for the construction of all works incidental thereto, and in respect of which works, guarantees as described in clauses 21–43 of the Electric Supply Regulations, 1935, have first been given in favour of the Power Board for payments amounting in each of not less than five consecutive
years from the completion of such works to at least fourteen per cent. of the estimated capital cost of such works; and providing funds for the purposes mentioned in section 118 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925—namely, making advances to consumers; and whereas it has been ascertained that the said special rate of twopence three farthings in the pound will not be sufficient to meet such interest and other charges:
Now, therefore, the Bay of Islands Electric-power Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on the Board by section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, hereby resolves that the said special rate of twopence three farthings in the pound shall be and is hereby amended by increasing such amount of twopence three farthings in the pound to threepence and one-eighth of a penny in the pound.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of J. WATTIE CANNERIES, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, dated the 3rd day of November, 1939, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £25,300 to £25,000, and the minute approved by the said Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above-mentioned Act, were registered on the 9th day of November, 1939, by the Assistant Registrar of Companies at Napier; and further take notice that the said minute is in the words and figures following:
"The capital of J. Wattie Canneries, Limited, hence-forth is £25,000 divided into 25,000 ordinary shares of £1 each instead of three founder shares of £100 each and 25,000 ordinary shares of £1 each. At the date of the registration of this minute 19,319 of the said ordinary shares are issued and on 18,674 of them the sum of £1 has been paid and is to be deemed to be paid up, on 225 of them the sum of 15s. has been paid and is to be deemed to be paid up, on 30 of them the sum of 14s. 3d. has been paid and is to be deemed to be paid up, on 265 of them the sum of 10s. has been paid and is to be deemed to be paid up, and on 125 of them the sum of 5s. has been paid and is to be deemed to be paid up. The residue of the said ordinary shares, namely, 5,681 shares, are unissued."

HUNTLY BOROUGH COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT.
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Huntly Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a public work—namely, the erection of a water-supply reservoir and the laying down of supply-pipes thereto and therefrom—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk of the said Council, situated in the Municipal Buildings in Great South Road, Huntly, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers of the Huntly Borough Council, Great South Road, Huntly.

Approximate area of parcel of land to be taken : 3 roods 0·2 perches.
Being portion of Allotment No. 463 ; coloured pink.
Situate in the Taupiri Parish.
