THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

[No. 133

Under the influence of a low-pressure centre in the north, winds from easterly directions prevailed. Heavy rain extended gradually from the extreme north down to Hawke’s Bay and some minor flooding occurred in Auckland City on the 24th. The slow eastward movement of this depression kept the weather dull on the east coast and showery in Hawke’s Bay.

More settled conditions resulted from an anticyclone which covered the Dominion on the 27th, slight disturbances in the south producing only weak southerly changes, so that the closing days of the month were mainly fair with moderate to mild temperatures.
