NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of section 188 (3) of the Mining Act, 1926, as amended by section 18 of the Mining Amendment Act, 1937, that unless sufficient cause to the contrary be shown within one month from the date hereof the mining privileges mentioned in the Schedule hereto will be struck off the Register.

Notice by the Public Trustee under Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

WHEREAS William Charles Vallance, of Auckland, in New Zealand, Solicitor, is the registered proprietor of lands more particularly described as follows—namely, firstly, 34·6 perches, being Lot 4 on deposited plan 18872, Auckland Registry, and being part of Fairburn’s Old Land Claim, No. 269A, described in certificate of title, Vol. 425, folio 231, Auckland Registry, and secondly, 24 perches, being part of Lot 83 on a plan lodged in the Deeds Registry Office at Auckland as No. 1378, being part of Allotment 16 of Section 7, Suburbs of Auckland, described in certificate of title, Vol. 586, folio 118, Auckland Registry, limited as to parcels and title; and whereas the value of the said lands does not exceed £1,000; and whereas it is not known where the said William Charles Vallance is or whether he is alive or dead; and whereas it is provided by subsection (2) of section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, as set out in section 41 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, that where the value of unclaimed real or personal property does not exceed £1,000, the Public Trustee (with the consent of the Public Trust Office Board) may by notice in the Gazette declare his intention of taking possession of such property and thereafter of exercising the powers conferred upon him by the said section 87 without applying to the Court; and whereas the consent of the Public Trust Office Board has been duly given: Now, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice that he intends to take possession of the said lands and to exercise in respect thereof the powers conferred upon him under and by the said section 87 in Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its amendments.
