At the Government House at Wellington, this 25th day of October, 1939.
Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a public reserve within the meaning of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, and in the opinion of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand a doubt exists as to the purpose of such reserve:
And whereas in the opinion of His Excellency the Governor-General it is expedient to define the purposes to which the land described in the said Schedule shall be dedicated :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection two of section six of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby define the purposes to which the land described in the said Schedule shall be dedicated as being recreation purposes.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
RESERVE No. 4232 (formerly Lot 9, D.P. 9063), Block XII, Waipara Survey District : Area, l rood 30 perches, more or less.

to be the Hakaru Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the Hakaru Hall, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become Government road.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road dealt with: 2 acres 3 roods.
Adjoining or passing through part Section 8 and railway land.
Situated in Block I, New River Hundred (Southland R.D.).
