Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

Christchurch, 18th October, 1939.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, up to 4 p.m. on Monday, 13th November, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Tuesday, 14th November, 1939, at 2.30 p.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, of from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

PART Section I, Block XI: Area, 48 acres 0 roods 29 perches. Capital value, £445*; half-yearly rent, £11 2s. 6d.
- Capital value includes the sum of £14 for improvements comprising 88 chains party-boundary and road-boundary fencing.
Weighted with £15 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising planting, well, and dam,
This property comprises part of the Maytown Settlement, and is situated approximately two miles and a half from Waimate Township. Access is provided by good metalled road. The land, which is suitable for mixed farming, is of good medium quality; watered by dam and well, and by creek which dries up for part of the year.
NOTE.—The area is not self-supporting and is only suitable to be worked in with other properties in the district.
