THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Otahuhu Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

Town Hall Loan, 1939.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Otahuhu taken on the 13th day of September, 1939, on the proposal of the Otahuhu Borough Council to borrow the sum of £26,000 for the purpose of erecting a town hall, plunket rooms, library, and shops on the property in Great South Road, Otahuhu, recently purchased by the Council for that purpose.
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was . . 202
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 421
The number of informal votes was . . . . . . 8
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

Notice of Intention to take Additional Land in Block XIV, Maungataniwha Survey District, for the Purposes of a Native School.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a Native school: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mangamuka Bridge and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 roods 10·7 perches.
Being portion of Mangamuka West 3L 3 Block.
Situated in Block XIV, Maungataniwha Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 30333.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 105042, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
