Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserves in the Taumarunui Borough Council.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being lands reserved under the said Act) in the Taumarunui Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserves is hereby vested shall be three years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserves. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserves in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area containing by admeasurement 24 acres 2 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Lot A, Block I, Huna Survey District. As the same is delineated on a plan marked L and S. 1/440, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Also all that area, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 0 roods 25 perches, more or less, being Lot B, Block I, Huna Survey District.

Also all that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 21 perches, more or less, being Lot D, Block I, Huna Survey District.

As the same are delineated on the plan marked 270/20n, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 16th day of October, 1939.

Land temporarily reserved in the North Auckland Land District for Recreation Purposes.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve the land in the North Auckland Land District, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for recreation purposes.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

All that area in the City of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 19·9 perches, more or less, situated in Block VIII, Rangitoto Survey District, being Allotments 96 to 105 (inclusive) and 109 to 115 (inclusive) of Section 1, Suburbs of Auckland, and being the whole of the land comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 186, folio 87, Auckland Registry.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 16th day of October, 1939.

Lands permanently reserved in the Taranaki, Wellington, and Otago Land Districts.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes of the said section mentioned :

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto were, by the Warrant dated the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and published in the Gazette of the thirty-first day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes in the Schedule of the said Warrant specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved :

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be permanently reserved for which purposes the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.

All that area containing by admeasurement 2 roods 20 perches, more or less, being part Section 17, Block XIV, Ohura Survey District : Bounded, towards the north and east by the Tokirima Stream ; towards the south-east by Lot 1, D.P. 5657, 40 links ; and towards the south-west by Tokirima Road, 660·6 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L and S. 6/6/634a, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Addition to a public school-site (Tokirima).)

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

All that area containing by admeasurement 3 roods 16·72 perches, more or less, being part Section 8, Evans Bay Registration District, situated in Block XI, Fort Nicholson Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked 332/54, deposited in the Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon bordered green. (Recreation.)

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

Section 4, Block XXXIII, Town of Frankton : Area, 3 acres 3 roods 1 perch, more or less.

Also all that area containing 3 acres 1 rood 13 perches, more or less, being Section 1483a, Block XIX, Section 3, Section 1484a, and part Section 4, Block XXXIV, Town of Frankton : Bounded, towards the north-west by Hospital Reserve, 376 links ; towards the north-east by Section 1485a, Block XXXIV, 880 links ; towards the south-east by other part of Section 4, 376 links ; and towards the south-west by Cumberland Street, 886 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L and S. 54813a, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (Aerodrome.)
