EQUIPMENT BRANCH, SECTION II.
Hugh Temple Grigg, in the rank of Flying Officer, and is posted to Air Headquarters for engineering duties. Dated 11th September, 1939.

SPECIAL APPOINTMENTS FOR ADMINISTRATIVE AND INSTRUCTIONAL DUTIES.
Geoffrey Edward Yates, in the rank of Flight Lieutenant, and is posted to Ground Training School, Rongotai, as Officer Commanding Training Squadron and Education Officer. Dated 15th September, 1939.
Stephen Roy Neal in the rank of Flying Officer, and is posted to Ground Training School, Rongotai, as Navigation Officer. Dated 15th September, 1939.
Percy Barker Roebuck, in the rank of Flying Officer, and is posted to No. 1 Elementary Flying Training School as Navigation officer. Dated 15th September, 1939.

Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. Manson, M.C., E.D., Reserve of Officers, New Zealand Military Forces, to be attached, and is posted to Air Headquarters for duty. Dated 6th September, 1939.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.
Appointment.
Flying Officer Richard James Robert Haldane Makgill, R.A.F.O., is appointed to a temporary commission for the duration of the war, in his present rank, with seniority from the 13th October, 1931 (under arrangements made with the Air Ministry).

RETIRED LIST.
Resignation.
Flight Lieutenant Charles Edward Blayney, M.C., is permitted to resign his commission on appointment to a commission in the Royal Australian Air Force Reserve. Dated 30th August, 1939.

Retirement.
Pilot Officer George Dickinson Harle is retired. Dated 1st August, 1939.

REGULAR AIR FORCE.
The undermentioned are appointed to temporary commissions, Equipment Branch, Section II, as Commissioned Technical Officers, in the rank of Flying Officer. Dated 16th September, 1939 :-
Warrant Officer Albert Tom Giles, to be Commissioned Engineer Officer, and is posted O.C. Otahuhu Railway Workshop, Aero Shop.
Warrant Officer Herbert Henry Smith, to be Commissioned Engineer Officer, and is posted as Workshops Officer, Hobsonville Depot.
Warrant Officer Albert Edward Pope to be Commissioned Armament Officer, and is posted as Armament Officer, Trade Test Board, Ohakea Depot.
Flight Sergeant Alwyn Palmer, to be Commissioned Engineer Officer, and is posted as Workshops Officer, Hobsonville Depot.
Flight Sergeant Noel Alfred Vear, to be Commissioned Engineer Officer, and is posted O.C. Dunedin Railway Workshop, Aero Shop.
Flight Sergeant Alston Leonard Partelow, to be Commissioned Signals Officer, and is posted as Signals Officer, Blenheim.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve the following appointments in the New Zealand Naval Forces :-
Surgeon Commander Ernest Evans Malone, M.B., B.Ch., Royal Navy to H.M.S. “Philomel” additional, to date 13th October, 1939, and vice Anthony and as Director of Medical Services from date of joining.
Acting Paymaster Lieutenant Commander Robert Stuart Patrick Marrs, Royal Navy, H.M.S. “Leander” to “Leander” in continuation of present appointment and as Squadron Accountant Officer (temporarily) vice Isaac, to date 30th August, 1939.

Paymaster Lieutenant Herbert Russell Sleeman, M.B.E., N.Z.N.F., to the rank of Paymaster Lieutenant Commander, N.Z.N.F., to date 3rd September, 1939, and to continue in his present appointment of Assistant Naval Secretary and Controller of Finance and Stores.
