The Wool Emergency Regulations 1939.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 14th day of September, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Emergency Regulations Act, 1939, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS.

  1. These regulations may be cited as the Wool Emergency Regulations 1939.

  2. For the purposes of these regulations the term “wool” includes greasy wool, slipe wool, scoured wool, sheep-skins, and wool growing on any sheep or lamb, but does not include any wool that at the commencement of these regulations is in process of manufacture or treatment in a woollen mill.

  3. It shall be unlawful to sell, transfer, assign, mortgage, charge, or pledge any wool, or otherwise to deal with any wool in any manner which may change or vary the ownership of the wool or the right to obtain or call for the ownership or possession of the wool.

  4. Every person who is a party to any transaction that is rendered unlawful by these regulations, whether as vendor or purchaser, or as principal or agent, or otherwise, commits an offence against these regulations and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £200 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding twelve months in the case of an individual, or to a fine not exceeding £1,000 in the case of a company or other corporation.

  5. These regulations shall continue in force until the 14th day of October, 1939, and no longer.
