Parts of the Territorial Force called out for Military Service.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Defence Emergency Regulations 1939, the Governor-General may by Proclamation call out the Defence Forces or any part thereof for military service:

And whereas circumstances have now arisen which make it necessary to call out parts of the Territorial Force for military service for purposes of defence in New Zealand:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Defence Emergency Regulations 1939, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in that behalf, do hereby call out for military service for purposes of defence in New Zealand, the following parts of the Territorial Force, namely:β€”

1st Heavy Artillery Group.
1st Anti-Aircraft Group.
2nd Heavy Artillery Group.
2nd Anti-Aircraft Group.
23rd Heavy Battery.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 3rd day of September, 1939.
