HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 14.

Harewood Aerodrome.—All that road or portion of road in the Waimairi and Paparua Counties, commencing at the western boundary of the City of Christchurch and proceeding generally in a north-westerly direction by way of Holmwood Road, Fendalton Road, Burnside Road, and Dury Road, and terminating at the junction of the last-named road with the access road to the Harewood Aerodrome, being a distance of 4 miles 25 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 101189 deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 15.

Geraldine–Fairlie.—All that street or portion of street in Geraldine Borough known as Cox Street, commencing at its junction with Talbot Street and proceeding generally in a southerly direction and terminating at the south-western boundary of the said Borough, being a distance of 69 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 101021, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.

Also all that road or portion of road in the Geraldine County, commencing at the south-western boundary of the Borough of Geraldine in Cox Street, thence proceeding generally in a westerly direction by way of Gapes Valley Road and Beautiful Valley Road and terminating at the western boundary of the Geraldine County, being a distance of 15 miles 12 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 101127, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Also all that road or portion of road in the Mackenzie County, commencing at the western boundary of the Geraldine County and proceeding generally in a north-westerly direction by way of Cattle Valley Road, thence in a south-westerly direction and terminating at its junction with the Timaru-Queenstown Main Highway, being a distance of 13 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 101362, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.

Winchester–Hanging Rock.—All that road or portion of road in the Geraldine County, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch-Dunedin Highway in Block XIV, Geraldine Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a northerly, then westerly, then southerly direction and terminating at the southern boundary of the Geraldine County on the bridge over the Opihi River, being a distance of 15 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 101127, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.

Pleasant Point–Hanging Rock.—All that road or portion of road in the Levels County, commencing at its junction with the Pleasant Point-Fairlie Main Highway at the south-western boundary of Rural Section 7664, Block III, Pareora Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction by way of Aitken’s Road and terminating at the boundary of the Levels County on the bridge over the Opihi River, being a distance of 5 miles 37 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 88416, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 16.

Timaru–Queenstown.—All that road or portion of road in the Lake County, commencing opposite the mid-eastern boundary of Section 7, Block IV, Lower Wanaka Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly and westerly direction to Pembroke, thence through Pembroke by way of Ardmore, Helwick, Brownston, Dun-garvon, and Youghal Streets, thence in a southerly and south-westerly direction and terminating at the north-eastern corner of Section 1, Run 334, Block V, Cardrona Survey District, being a distance of 7 miles 76 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 100086, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Waipiata Sanatorium.—All that road or portion of road in the Maniototo County, commencing at its junction with the Waipiata – Styx Main Highway at the southern boundary of Section 13, Block 14, Maniototo Survey District, and proceeding in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 15, Block 14, Maniototo Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 18, Block I, Rock and Pillar Survey District, terminating at its junction with the entrance road to the Waipiata Sanatorium, being a distance of 1 mile 26 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 101155, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 17.

Dunedin – Harrington Point.—All that road or portion of road, commencing at the south-western end of Anderson’s Bay Bridge and proceeding in a north-easterly direction and terminating at the north-eastern end of the said bridge, being a distance of 1·2 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 99611, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 18.

Invercargill–Bluff.—All that road or portion of road in Southland County, commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 1, Block V, Invercargill City, and proceeding generally in a south-easterly direction via Bluff Road and terminating at the south-western corner of Lot 55, Block 44, Clifton Hundred, being a distance of 1 mile 60 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 99472, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Queenstown–Invercargill.—All that road or portion of road in Southland County, Lumsden Town District, and Winton Borough, commencing at its junction with the Lumsden – Kingston Main Highway in Section 61, Block I, Hokonui Survey District, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Lumsden, Caroline, Dipton East, Limehills, Winton, and Lorne, and terminating at the northern boundary of the City of Invercargill, being a distance of 50 miles 57 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 94170, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured black, green, and red.

Queenstown–Invercargill.—All that road or portion of road in the Southland County, commencing at the junction with the Queenstown – Invercargill Main Highway in Section 21, Block I, Winton Hundred, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction by way of Wilson’s Crossing Lochiel Road and terminating at its junction with the Makarewa – Browns – Limehills Main Highway in Block 13, Invercargill Hundred, being a distance of 8 miles, more or less: as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. No. 101306, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of December, 1938.

Present:

THE RIGHT HON. M. J. SAVAGE, PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 5 of the Native Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Native freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Native reservation for the common use of the Ngati-Tairi tribe as a village-site and a meeting-place.
