Waihi Drainage Area.—Notice of Intention to make and levy General Rates, and Notice of Amendment of Annually Recurring Special Rates.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy on the unimproved value of all land within the Pukehina Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, the general rates described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land included in the Central Subdivision the general rate described in the Second Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the Kaikokopu Subdivision the general rates described in the Third Schedule hereto, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance-costs for the period 1st April, 1938, to the 31st March, 1939.

Notice is also given that, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, the annually recurring special rates made and levied on the 28th day of December, 1929, and amended on the 12th August, 1935, have been further amended as from 1st day of April, 1938, to the amounts described in the Fourth Schedule hereto for the Pukehina Subdivision of the Waihi Drainage Area, and to the amounts described in the Fifth Schedule hereto for the Kaikokopu Subdivision. The amount of such special rates will in respect of the financial year ending on the 31st March, 1939, be payable on 20th December, 1938, and will, in respect of every future financial year, be payable on the 30th August in such year.

The amount of the general rates will be payable in one sum on the 20th December, 1938, when the annually recurring special rates already made and levied will also be payable.

The valuation roll and the rate-book of the district will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Land Drainage Engineer’s Office, Room 45, 1st Floor, Government Buildings, Customs Street West, Auckland, and copies of same may be inspected at the office of Mr. H. W. Earp, Clerk, Kaituna River Board, Te Puke, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
GENERAL RATES.
Pukehina Subdivision.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, elevenpence and forty-four one-hundredths of a penny (11·44d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, fivepence and eight one-hundredths of a penny (5·08d.) in the pound.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
GENERAL RATES.
Central Subdivision.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, twelvepence and seventeen one-hundredths of a penny (12·17d.) in the pound.

THIRD SCHEDULE.
GENERAL RATES.
Kaikokopu Subdivision.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, sixpence and eight one-hundredths of a penny (6·08d.) in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, fourpence and seventy-three one-hundredths of a penny (4·73d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, twopence and seven-tenths of a penny (2·7d.) in the pound.

FOURTH SCHEDULE.
SPECIAL RATES.
Pukehina Subdivision.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, twenty pence and eight-tenths of a penny (20·8d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, ninepence and twenty-four one-hundredths of a penny (9·24d.) in the pound.

FIFTH SCHEDULE.
SPECIAL RATES.
Kaikokopu Subdivision.

Class A: On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, fivepence and sixteen one-hundredths of a penny (5·16d.) in the pound.

Class B: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class B, fourpence and three-tenths of a penny (4·3d.) in the pound.

Class C: On the unimproved value of all lands so classified as Class C, twopence and twenty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (2·29d.) in the pound.

Administration of Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, in Kaitieke County.—(Notice No. Ag. 3622.)

THE following resolutions passed by the Kaitieke County Council on the 14th day of November, 1938, are published in accordance with the provisions of section 7 (2) of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1934.

RESOLUTIONS.

“THAT the Kaitieke County Council doth assume responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, within the County of Kaitieke as from the 14th day of November, 1938.

“That the Kaitieke County Council having assumed responsibility for the administration of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, doth appoint Harry Grattan an Inspector under the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.”
