Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 15th November, 1938.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Petone Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF PETONE.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Petone taken on the 9th day of November, 1938, on the proposal of the Petone Borough Council to borrow the sum of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) for the purpose of building a new grandstand with improved dressing-accommodation in the recreation-ground and to make alterations to the cycle track so as to permit the Rugby ground to be laid out north and south, the voting was as follows:—

Votes.
For the proposal . . . . . . 766
Against the proposal . . . . . 218
Informal . . . . . . . . . 8

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the persons named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VII, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District, for the Purposes of a Recreation-ground.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a recreation-ground: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Te Teko and is there open for inspection: and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

Notice to Persons affected by Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Pharmacy (Dispensing of Prescriptions).

I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from Boots the Chemists (N.Z.), Ltd., for a license to carry on the business of chemist or druggist by the keeping of open shop or place for the compounding or dispensing of prescriptions at the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition, Wellington.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 21st November, 1938. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and should include financial statements.

I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from R. Alfano, Wellington, for a license to take fish for sale at Wellington and Paremata and Napier by means of a 58 ft., 110 h.p. trawler. Market, Wellington only.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 28th November, 1938.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.

I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—

(1) L. Dornbush, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at a proposed service station at the corner of Church and Ford Streets, Opotiki.

(2) L. Blomfield, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at a proposed service station at the corner of Tamaki Drive and Okahu Road, Orakei, Auckland.

(3) Messrs. Wells and Daly, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at a proposed service station at the corner of Norton Road and Kent Street, Frankton Junction.

(4) D. A. Reid, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at a proposed new garage and service station at Springs Junction.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 29th November, 1938. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.
