Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the
Auckland Land District for other Land.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the
Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in
the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown
land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924,
in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any
such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality
of exchange:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it
is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First
Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule
hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second
Schedule has agreed to such exchange :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers
and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant
in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First
Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land
described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Description of Land authorized to be exchanged.

ALLOTMENT 428, Parish of Waimana, Blocks XIV and XV,
Whakatane Survey District : Area, 87 acres 2 roods 32 perches,
more or less. (Auckland plan S.O. 29810.)

SECOND SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Description of Land to be obtained in Exchange therefor.

ALL those areas in the Whakatane County, containing by
admeasurement a total area of 49 acres 3 roods 5Β·1 perches,
more or less, situated in Block XI, Whakatane Survey
District, being Lots 1 and 2 on the plan numbered 28012,
deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at
Auckland, and being parts of Allotments 334 and 356, Parish
of Waimana. As the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked L. and S. 4/851B, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 3rd day of November, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section four of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, I,
George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Gordon Holt,
James Gwilliam, and
Norman Potts
to be Honorary Inspectors under the said Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 3rd day of November, 1938.
