New debenture, issued pursuant to Part II of the Local Authorities Interest
Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, section 20 of the Finance Act (No. 2),
1935, and the Cromwell Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1938. New debenture
for £ , payable at , New Zealand, on the day of
, 19 , issued by the Cromwell Borough Council, New Zealand, under the above-mentioned
Acts and Order pursuant to a resolution passed and confirmed by the said Council as
provided by section 9 (2) of the said Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans
Conversion Act, 1932-33.
(N.B.—The holder of this debenture has no claim in respect thereof upon the
Government or public revenues of New Zealand.)

(3) Resolution making Special Rate.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by Part II of the
Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932-33, and the
Cromwell Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1938, the Cromwell Borough Council
hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and
interest in respect of the new securities authorized to be issued by the Cromwell
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act and order in conversion of existing
securities issued in respect of the loans set out in the First Schedule to that Order, the
said Cromwell Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of [State amount
in the pound] upon the rateable value on the basis of [State whether capital, unimproved,
or annual] value of all rateable property comprised in the district, and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such securities, and be
payable half-yearly on the day of and the day of [or
yearly on the day of ] in each and every year until the last maturity
date of such securities, being the day of , 19 , or until all such securities
are fully paid off.

Confering on Mackenzie County Council certain Powers of
Borough Councils with respect to Drainage, Sanitation, and
Waterworks.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of
November, 1938.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in him in that behalf by section one hundred and
eighty-two of the Counties Act, 1920, His Excellency the
Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer on the Mackenzie
County Council all the powers with respect to drainage and
sanitation and the supply of water for domestic or industrial
purposes exercisable by a duly constituted Borough Council
under sections eighty-two to eighty-four, eighty-six to eighty-
eight, ninety-one, Part XIX, Part XX (with the exception
of sections two hundred and fifty-one, two hundred and
fifty-three, and two hundred and fifty-four), and section
three hundred and forty-six of the Municipal Corporations
Act, 1933, and also section twenty of the Municipal Cor-
porations Amendment Act, 1938, but subject to the
restriction that such powers shall be exercisable only over
that portion of the County of Mackenzie described in the
Schedule hereto.

ALL that area situated in the County of Mackenzie, commonly
known as the Township of Fairlie.

Directing the Sale of Land under the Public Works Act, 1928,
in the City of Nelson.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of
November, 1938.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1928, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct
the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such
land being no longer required for the public work for which
it was acquired.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold :
14·5 perches.
Being portion of Section 157A, City of Nelson. (S.O. 86 Tn.)
In the Nelson Land District ; as the same is more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 68665,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.
