Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License
under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Taking of Fish for Sale.
HEREBY give notice that an application has been
received from F. G. Smith for permission to take over
from O. H. Andrews, Lyttelton, a 45 ft. 20 h.p. launch and
to use same to take fish for sale at Timaru using long and hand
lines and trawl-nets.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected
by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 20th October, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections
will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at
the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Insurance
Building, Wellington, on Wednesday, 23rd November, 1938,
at 2.30 o'clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act,
1924.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—SUBURBAN LANDS.
Rangataua Town District.—Town of Rangataua.
SECTION 4, Block VIII: Area, 1 rood 24 perches. Upset
price, £1.
Weighted with £2 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising felling, grassing, and stumping.
This section is situated half a mile from the Rangataua
Railway-station. It is a level section, felled, grassed, and
partially stumped.

Waimarino County.—Town of Rangataua.
SECTION 8, Block IX: Area, 4 acres 1 rood 10 perches.
Upset price, £9.
Weighted with £45 (payable in cash) for improvements,
comprising felling, stumping, fencing, and old shed.
This section is situated half a mile from the Rangataua
Railway-station and comprises land suitable for market
gardening. The soil is of light loam, the land is watered by
a spring, and the general quality of the section is good.

Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Optional
Tenures.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 11th October, 1938.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned pro-
perty is open for selection on optional tenures under
the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 4.30
o'clock p.m. on Monday, 28th November, 1938.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday,
30th November, 1938, at 10 o'clock a.m., but if any appli-
cant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other
Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when
examined documentary evidence of their financial position,
such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from
managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms,
or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial
assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should
state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply
guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of
the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant
is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a
deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period
rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

Retail Sale and Distribution of Motor-spirit.
HEREBY give notice that applications have been
received from—
(1) D. R. Hunter, for permission to alter the frontage of
a garage at 208 Dee Street, Invercargill, to be
taken over from Messrs. Palmer and Lyall, so as
to leave the one petrol pump on the premises in an
outside position and to install one additional petrol
pump alongside.
(2) N. Stewart, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at
his store at Matauri Bay.
(3) L. Ibbotson, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at
his store in Bethlehem, Tauranga.
(4) S. Jarvis and Sons, for a license to sell (retail) motor-
sprit from one portable commercial petrol pump at
their premises in Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti.
(5) C. F. W. Blank, for a license to sell (retail) motor-
sprit from one petrol pump proposed to be installed
at his premises in Tokirima.
(6) W. P. Olsen, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit
from four petrol pumps proposed to be installed in
the form of a service station on his property at the
corner of Hawkesbury Avenue and Rutland Street,
Christchurch.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected
by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 25th October, 1938. All
representations must set out clearly the grounds for same
and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput
of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the
person making the representations.

Motor-registration Plates.
Office of the Registrar of Motor-vehicles,
Wellington, 10th October, 1938.
ALTERNATIVE tenders will be received at the office
of the Registrar of Motor-vehicles up to noon on
Wednesday, 16th November, 1938, for the manufacture of
motor-registration plates for three and five years. Conditions
and specifications may be seen at any Chief Post-office.
Tenders are to be addressed to the Registrar of Motor-
vehicles, General Post Office, Wellington, C. 1., the envelope
to be marked "Tender for the manufacture of motor-
registration plates."
