BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Kawakawa, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Street Works Supplementary Loan, 1938, £1,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Devonport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifteen hundred pounds (£1,500), authorized to be raised by the Devonport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for street works, the said Devonport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three sixty-fourths (3/64ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Devonport, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at an ordinary meeting of the Devonport Borough Council on the 26th day of January, 1938.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Roads, Bridges, and Drainage Loan, 1937 (£50,000).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on a loan of £50,000, authorized to be raised by the Raglan County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of public works, the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ·59 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Karamu, Karioi, Matakowhai, Onewhero, Pirongia, Port Waikato, Pukekawa, Pukemiro, Te Akau, Waingaro, and Whangape Ridings; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Carried at a special meeting of the Raglan County Council held on the 12th day of January, 1938.
