Appointments in the Public Service.
Office of the Public Service Commissioners,
Wellington, 25th August, 1938.
THE Public Service Commissioners have made the
following appointments in the Public Service:—
William Murray Fraser,
to be Registrar of Marriages for the District of Hokitika
under the Marriage Act, 1908; Registrar of Births and
Deaths for the District of Hokitika under the Births and
Deaths Registration Act, 1924; and Registrar of Births and
Deaths of Maoris at Hokitika under the Maori Births and
Deaths Registration Regulations dated 4th February, 1935,
as from the 9th day of August, 1938.
Patrick Michael Martin,
to be Returning Officer and Registrar of Electors for the
Electoral District of Napier for the purposes of the Electoral
Act, 1927, and its amendments, and Returning Officer for
the Napier Licensing District for the purposes of the Licensing
Act, 1908, and its amendments, as from the 15th day of
August, 1938.
William Elliott Bennett,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Seeds Importation
Act, 1927, as from the 19th day of August, 1938.
Fritz Edward Lassen,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Matata, as from the 17th day of August, 1938.
William Vincent Blandford,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
Deaths for the District of Waiwera, as from the 1st day of
September, 1938.
Leslie Stevenson Shannon,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of
Granity, as from the 17th day of August, 1938.
Thomas Percival Pain,
to be Deputy Sheriff for the District of Otago; Deputy
Registrar at Dunedin of the Supreme Court of New Zealand
for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908; and Local
Patent Officer at Dunedin for the purposes of section 115
of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, as
from the 15th day of August, 1938.
Erwin Sharman Molony,*
to be District Land Registrar and Examiner of Titles in
pursuance of section 4 of the Land Transfer Act, 1915, and
Registrar of Deeds in pursuance of section 6 of the Deeds
Registration Act, 1908, for the District of Gisborne, as from
the 25th day of February, 1938.
Sydney Smith Hardman,†
to be Assistant Land Registrar for the District of Gisborne
pursuant to the provisions of section 4 of the Land Transfer
Act, 1915, as from the 12th day of August, 1938.
Claude William Taylor,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Waipiro Bay, as from the 19th day of August, 1938.

Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.
PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations,
1938, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Marketing, being
satisfied that a sufficient majority of the producers in the
area of land defined in the Schedule hereto are desirous that
such area should be declared to be a pool area for the
marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare such area of
land defined as aforesaid to be a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool
Area for the purposes of the said regulations under the name
set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby further declare
that this notice shall take effect on the 8th day of September,
1938.
SCHEDULE.
WAIHI DISTRICT BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.
All that area of land lying entirely within the County of
Ohinemuri and bounded by a line commencing at the point
where the county boundary meets the eastern foreshore at
Waihi Beach; thence following the line of the county
boundary in a south-westerly direction to the point where
it is crossed by the main Waihi-Tauranga Highway; thence
continuing north along the said highway to the junction of
the Pukewera Road, taking in all farms on both sides
which have direct access; thence along Pukewera Road in
a south-westerly direction to the junction of that road with
the Talari Road, taking in farms on both sides of the road
which have direct access; thence continuing along Talari
Road in a southerly direction to the point where it meets the
southern boundary of Section 33, Block 111; thence from this
point, taking a straight line in a westerly direction and across
country to meet the eastern bank of the Waitawheta Stream;
thence following the said stream in a northerly direction to
the point where it forms the northern boundary of Section 19,
Block 11; thence from this point, taking a straight line across
country in a northerly direction, to the Township of Waikino;
thence continuing this line in the same direction and across
country to the Township of Waitekauri; thence from this
point, taking a straight line in a north-easterly direction to
meet the southern boundary of the State forest reserve;
thence following this boundary generally in an easterly
direction to the point where it meets the western boundary
of the Mataora Block; thence from this point continuing the
line in a south-easterly direction to again meet the eastern
foreshore and the county boundary at Homunga Bay; thence
continuing to follow the said foreshore in a southerly direction
to Waihi Beach, the original point of commencement.

The Courthouse, Alfred Street, Blenheim,
to be a place wherein sittings of the Magistrates’ Court shall
be held in lieu of the place previously appointed.

Notice respecting Proposed Alterations of Boundaries, Borough
of Feilding.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 16th August, 1938.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to
His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the areas described
in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Borough
of Feilding and included in the County of Oroua.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any
written objections to or petitions against the proposed
alterations of boundaries which they desire to lodge within
one month from the first publication of this notice, such
objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of
Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREAS PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF
FEILDING AND INCLUDED IN COUNTY OF OROUA.
All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 70,
Town of Feilding; thence across Port Street to the south-
western corner of Section 107, Town of Feilding; thence
along the northern side of Port Street to Pharazyn Street;
thence across Pharazyn Street and along the northern
boundary of Section 132, Town of Feilding, to Arnott Street;
thence south-westerly along the north-western side of Arnott
Street to Pharazyn Street; thence by the eastern side of
Pharazyn Street produced to the north-western corner of
Section 131, Town of Feilding; thence along the north-
western boundary of said Section 131 to its northernmost
corner; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern
boundary of Section 131 aforesaid to its easternmost corner;
thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of
said Section 131 to Pharazyn Street; thence north-easterly
along the eastern side of Pharazyn Street to a point in line
with the northern side of Sherwill Street; thence westerly
along the northern side of Sherwill Street to the south-
western corner of Section 71, Town of Feilding; thence
northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 71 and
70, Town of Feilding, to the north-western corner of the
said Section 70, the place of commencement.
Also all that area being part of Section 124, Town of
Feilding, containing by admeasurement 2 roods
21·7 perches, more or less, bounded on the north-west by
Section 125, Town of Feilding, on the east by Reids Road
deviation, on the south-east by Kimbolton Road deviation,
and on the south-west by part of Section 123, Town of
Feilding.
