PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations, 1938, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Marketing, do hereby appoint

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—
STAFF.
Captain V. G. Jervis, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General, Central Military District, and is appointed Staff Officer “A” Duties, Army Headquarters. Dated 15th August, 1938.
Lieutenant W. S. McKinnon, B.Sc., Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointments of O.C. Coast Cadre, R.N.Z.A., Adjutant, 1st Heavy Artillery Group, and Officer i/c Ordnance Workshops, Devonport, and on proceeding to England to attend a Gunnery Staff Course, is seconded. Dated 9th August, 1938.
Lieutenant H. E. Gilbert, Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Artillery Instructor, Northern Military District, and is appointed Adjutant, 1st Heavy Artillery Group, and Officer i/c Ordnance Workshops, Devonport. Dated 9th August, 1938.
REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant W. N. Wood, from the Otago Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 8th June, 1938, and is posted to the 14th Medium Battery. Dated 2nd August, 1938.
Frank Samuel Salinger (late Lieutenant, 86th East Anglian Field Brigade Royal Artillery (T.A.)) to be Lieutenant, 12th Field Battery, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 11. Dated 3rd August, 1938.
N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.
Captain McK. J. R. McBryde, Central Depot, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 5. Dated 3rd August, 1938.
THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).
Captain W. W. Horwell, M.M., E.D., 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), Area 1. Dated 2nd August, 1938.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.
The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) and are posted to the 3rd Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1938 :—

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.
Captain R. S. Orr, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 19th November, 1934, and is posted to the Regimental Depot. Dated 3rd August, 1938.
Lieutenant W. N. Wood, 2nd Cadet Battalion, is transferred to the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery. Dated 2nd August, 1938.
2nd Lieutenant F. B. Edmundson (supernumerary to establishment) is transferred to the N.Z. Medical Corps. Dated 6th April, 1937.
Michael George O’Callaghan to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the Regimental Depot. Dated 1st June, 1938.
Maurice Joel to be 2nd Lieutenant, is posted to the Regimental Depot and seconded for duty to Southern Military District Headquarters for duty as Publicity Officer and is granted the honorary rank of Captain whilst so employed. Dated 1st July, 1938.
THE SOUTHLAND REGIMENT.
Captain I. A. H. Logan, Regimental Depot, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 12. Dated 28th July, 1938.
Lieutenant A. H. H. Webster ceases to be posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion and is posted to the Regimental Depot, with seniority from 23rd November, 1932, and seconded to the 3rd Composite Battalion. Dated 1st August, 1938.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieutenant F. P. Furkert, M.B., is posted from Southern Military District (unattached) to Northern Military District (unattached). Dated 25th July, 1938.
2nd Lieutenant F. B. Edmundson, M.B., from the Otago Regiment to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 6th October, 1936, and is posted to the Otago University Medical Company. Dated 6th April, 1937.
