NELSON CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Nelson City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £88,000 known as the “Water Supply Loan, 1937,” authorized to be raised by the Nelson City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of constructing headworks, tunnel, main pipe-line, and other necessary works for the supply of water from the Roding River, making the necessary land purchases and improving and extending the City reticulation, the said Nelson City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixpence and one-farthling in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Nelson comprising the whole of the City of Nelson, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 24th day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Nelson City Council at a meeting held on the 28th day of July, 1938.

THE BARR-BROWN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

RESOLVED that the company be wound up by means of a members’ voluntarily winding up, and that Mr. JOSEPH BENJAMIN, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator.

NOTICE is hereby given that by a resolution dated the 29th day of July, 1938, the above company went into voluntary liquidation and the undersigned was appointed liquidator of the said company.

Creditors (if any) having claims against the above company are required to furnish particulars of the same on or before the 29th day of August, 1938, otherwise they are liable to be excluded from the distribution of funds. All amounts due by debtors of the above company are to be paid to the undersigned on or before the 29th day of August, 1938.

BOROUGH OF OAMARU.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Foreshore Protection Loan (Balance £1,500).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Borough of Oamaru hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on one thousand five hundred pounds (£1,500), being the balance of a loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000) authorized to be raised by the Borough of Oamaru under the above-mentioned Act for foreshore protection, the said Borough of Oamaru hereby resolves that the special rate of three-quarters of a penny in the pound made and levied upon all rateable property in the Borough of Oamaru comprising the whole of the Borough, on the 30th September, 1937, be increased to one penny in the pound, and that such special rate of one penny in the pound is hereby made and levied on the aforesaid rateable property and shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan of £5,000 and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of fifteen years and ten years respectively or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We certify that the above resolution was passed at an ordinary meeting of the Council held on 4th August, 1938.
