NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 11th day of July, 1938, the following special resolution was duly passed :—

“Resolved that the company be wound up in view of its inability to discharge its liabilities, and that K. S. GLENDINNING be appointed liquidator in accordance with the wish of the creditors.”

SUMNER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Sumner Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

(a) “That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,100 authorized to be raised by the Sumner Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, and section 14 of the Finance Act (No. 2), 1936, for the purpose of eliminating septic tanks in the streets of Sumner Special Drainage Area and the installation of a new intercepting sewer with rising main along the Esplanade, and the payment for all labour, material, and things incidental to the work, the said Sumner Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·265 of a penny in the pound on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property within the said Sumner Special Drainage Rating Area (which area is more particularly defined in the Schedule to the special order confirmed at a special meeting of the Sumner Borough Council held on the 15th day of September, 1937), and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 4th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until the loan is fully paid off.

(b) “That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £7,400 authorized to be raised by the Sumner Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, and section 14 of the Finance Act (No. 2) 1936, for the purpose of installing new sewerage works and for the purchase and erection of all plant, material, and things incidental thereto in the Valley Special Sewerage Area of the borough, the said Sumner Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 6·36 pence in the pound on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property within the said Valley Special Sewerage Area of the borough (which area is more particularly defined in the Schedule to the special order confirmed at a special meeting of the Sumner Borough Council held on the 15th day of September, 1937), and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 4th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of an extract from the minutes of the Sumner Borough Council held on Monday, 25th July, 1938.
