Tenders for Inland Mail-service Contracts. — Auckland, Hamilton, and Thames Postal Districts, 1939-41.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 21st July, 1938.

SEALED tenders will be received at the Chief Post-offices, Auckland, Hamilton, and Thames, until noon on Monday, the 29th August, 1938, for the conveyance of mails between the undermentioned places for a period of three years from the 1st January, 1939.

POSTAL DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.

Auckland, Whitford, Beachlands, and Maraetai: Auckland along Main Highway via Howick to Griggs, thence along Broomfield Road for half a mile, retrace to Main Road, along Main Road to Wade’s Road, along Wade’s Road for half a mile, retrace to Main Road and along past Whitford Post-office to Clifton Road, and along Clifton Road to Sloan’s, along Beach Road to Small’s, along Pott’s Road to Clifton Road to Main Road, along Main Road and Beachland’s Road to Beachlands Post-office, retrace to Main Road to Maraetai Post-office (part rural delivery), daily.
Clevedon, Ness Valley, and Mounoukai (rural delivery along Mounoukai Road to Keeney’s), thrice weekly.
Clevedon and Orere Point (rural delivery along main road to Wilkinson’s), thrice weekly.
Helensville and Parakai, twice daily except Thursday when one trip only.
Henderson and Massey: Henderson, along Great North Road, Birdwood Road, along Red Hill Road to corner Sunny Dale Road, retrace to Birdwood Road, along Birdwood and Great North Roads to Royal Road, along Royal Road to Lewell’s, retrace to Great North Road, along Great North Road to Sandford’s, return via Great North and Lincoln Roads to Henderson (rural delivery), thrice weekly.
