APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

Under the Mining Act, 1926, and its Amendments.

PURSUANT to section 117 of the Mining Act, 1927, as amended by section 11 of the Mining Amendment Act, 1937, notice is hereby given that EDWARD MITCHELL, of Blackwater, Farmer, has made application for a water-race license under Application No. 41/1938, Reefton Mining Registry.

Further particulars can be ascertained by inspection of the application lodged at the office of the Mining Registrar at Reefton.

IN LIQUIDATION.

Notice of Meeting of Creditors.

THE above company by resolution signed in its minute-book and dated the 28th June, 1938, passed the following resolutions:—

(1) “That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up, and that the company be wound up voluntarily.

(2) “That Mr. R. Y. COLLINS, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

A meeting of creditors of the above company will be held at the Conference Hall, Room 93, A.M.P. Building, Wellington, on Thursday, the 7th July, 1938, at 11 o’clock a.m.

Business—To receive full statement of the company’s position. Nominate a liquidator. Appoint a committee of inspection.

NOTICE is hereby given that an extraordinary general meeting of creditors of Hukawai Goldmining Company, Limited, will be held at the registered office of the company, 79 Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Monday, the 25th day of July, 1938, at 4 p.m., to consider and if thought fit to confirm the following resolution which will be submitted to a meeting of shareholders of the company convened on the same day:—

“That the company by reason of its liabilities cannot continue in business and that it be voluntarily wound up.”

To appoint a liquidator and fix his remuneration.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned, ARTHUR CHADWICK and THOMAS CLARKE McLELLAN, carrying on business as Motor-garage Proprietors, Service Station Operators, and Cycle-dealers and Agents at Gordon Road, Mosgiel, under the name or style of “A. Chadwick and Co.” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 1st day of July, 1938.

All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Arthur Chadwick who will continue to carry on the said business under the same name or style of “A. Chadwick and Co.”

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Act, 1929, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the Council’s proportion of principal, interest, and other charges on the Gisborne Borough Council and Cook County Council Joint Special Loan of £5,100 (of which sum £3,400 represents the amount authorized to be raised on behalf of the Council) for the purpose of completing the establishment and equipment of an adequate aerodrome at Gisborne, the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighteenth (1/18d.) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct extract from the minutes of the meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council held on the 28th day of June, 1938.

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL RESOLUTION.

Aerodrome Joint Loan £5,100, made on 15th day of June, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Act, 1929, and all other Acts it in that behalf empowering, the Cook County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,700 authorized to be raised by the Cook County Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of meeting the cost of completing the establishment and equipment of an adequate aerodrome at Gisborne, the said Cook County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-seventy-second of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Cook County Council Special-rating District, comprising the whole of the rateable properties in the County of Cook, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off. The rate of interest to be three and one-half per cent.”
