Authorizing the Laying-off of Roads of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is
inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown
upon the plan of Town of Paremata Extension No. 17, affecting
Lots 3, 4, and 5 on D.P. 2073, being portion of Section 97,
Porirua Registration District, Block VIII, Paekakariki
Survey District, is intended to be used wholly for residential
purposes, that the proposed road shown thereon as Trevor
Terrace should be of the width of 66 ft. :
Now, therefore, I, Frank Langstone, Minister of Lands, do
hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon me by
section 17, subsection (1) of the Land Act, 1924, and of every
other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the laying-off
of Trevor Terrace of a width of not less than 40 ft. : Provided
always that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or
cause to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft.
from the middle of such road.

Arbor Day, 1938.

Department of Internal Affairs,

IT is hereby notified that Wednesday, 3rd August, 1938,
is to be observed as Arbor Day, and in view of the
national importance of tree-planting, local bodies throughout
New Zealand are requested to organize suitable celebrations
on that date.
Where on account of local climatic conditions in any
district the 3rd August is deemed unsuitable, the local bodies
affected are invited to observe some other suitable day in
that month.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under
Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.

I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received
from McLeod Motors, for permission to move two petrol
pumps at the applicant’s premises in Helensville, and install
two additional petrol pumps alongside in the form of a service
station.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and
who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 18th July, 1938. All repre-
sentations must set out clearly the grounds for same and
include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of
petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the
person making the representations.

Removal of Lighted Buoy for Overhaul.
Position : Lat. 46° 37′ S. ; long., 168° 22′ E. (approx.).
Details : The lighted buoy off Stirling Point will shortly
be removed for overhaul and replaced temporarily by an
unlighted black conical buoy. No further notice will be
given.
