HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—

COMMAND.

Lieutenant-Colonel F. C. Hammond, E.D., the Nelson-Marlborough Mounted Rifles, relinquishes command of the Regiment, is promoted to the rank of Colonel, and is posted to the Colonels’ List. Dated 17th May, 1938.

N.Z. STAFF CORPS.

Captain W. R. Burge, M.C., to be Major. Dated 1st June, 1938.

N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.

Major T. J. King to be Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 1st June, 1938.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant J. H. Dunn ceases to be posted to the 5th Field Battery, and is posted to the 22nd Anti-Aircraft Battery. Dated 26th May, 1938.

Lieutenant J. L. Duigan ceases to be posted to the 19th Medium Battery, and is posted to the 22nd Anti-Aircraft Battery. Dated 23rd May, 1938.

2nd Lieutenant T. W. Straker, 16th Light Battery, to be Lieutenant. Dated 15th July, 1938.

Dennis Rickman Brickell to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the 14th Medium Battery. Dated 10th February, 1938.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

2nd Lieutenant E. H. Halstead, 3rd Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 9th July, 1937.

Gordon Lindsay Weir to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st April, 1938.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

Major S. B. Dunn, 1st Cadet Battalion is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 3. Dated 24th May, 1938.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Lieutenant D. W. McKenzie, 3rd Cadet Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 30th May, 1938.

THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.

Lieutenant O. Doel, 2nd Cadet Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 23rd May, 1938.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

Captain E. J. Thomson, Regimental Depot, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 10. Dated 25th May, 1938.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

N.Z. Medical Corps.

Major G. E. O. Fenwick, O.B.E., F.R.C.S., is posted to the Retired List with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 1st June, 1938.
