Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.
NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed
Alexander Bell, of the Public Trust Office, Wellington,
to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, Stratford, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters from any cause, and all previous warrants appointing any Deputy of the said District Public Trustee have been revoked.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the Native land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the Hokianga Development Scheme.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.
I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—
(1) F. G. Gresham, for permission to move two petrol pumps from premises situated at First Avenue to the junction of Devonport Road and Elizabeth Street, Tauranga.
(2) A. L. Thomas, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at his store at Tussock Creek, Glencoe.
(3) T. Slater, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit from his premises in Patetonga Road, Tahuna.
(4) W. Laidlaw, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at his premises in Johnston Road, Nightcaps.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 16th June, 1938. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.

Taking of Fish.
I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from R. G. Marchant for a license to take fish at Mangonui by means of a 34 ft. 14 h.p. launch, using long and hand lines only, and supplying the Mangonui market.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 9th June, 1938.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 30th May, 1938.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 18th July, 1938.
The land described in the First Schedule may, at the option of the applicants, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease. The lands described in the Second Schedule may be selected on renewable lease only.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 20th July, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of improvement loading.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Mangonui County.—Rangaunu Survey District.
SECTION 8, Block V: Area, 81 acres 1 rood 32 perches. Capital value, £65. Deposit on deferred payments, £5: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £1 19s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 6s.
Weighted with £146 10s. for improvements, comprising four-roomed dwelling, galvanized iron shack, 35 chains boundary-fencing, 30 chains internal fencing, 80 chains draining, and 20 acres cleared and surface sown. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £31 10s., of the balance, the sum of £75 will be secured by instalment mortgage over a period of ten years by half-yearly payments of £4 16s. 3d., and the sum of £40 will be payable by ten half-yearly payments of £4 plus interest at 5 per cent,
