Education Reserve in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 24th May, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and the Education Reserves Act, 1928; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 18th July, 1938.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 20th July, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of improvement loading.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.

Rodney County.—Oruawharo Parish.

ALLOTMENT 74A: Area, 111 acres. Capital value £55; half-yearly rent, £1 2s.

Weighted with £33 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising 8 acres cleared and in grass and half share of 40 chains fencing.

Section is situated half a mile off the Auckland–Whangarei Main Highway. Access is from Te Hana which is two miles and a half distant by tar-sealed road for two miles and half a mile by unformed road. Section comprises about 8 acres grass, 30 acres short manuka and scrub, 50 acres high manuka, 16 acres light fern, and 5 acres heavy scrub and light bush. Area comprises very broken country with a westerly to southerly aspect, about one-quarter being ploughable. Soil is clay resting on sandstone formation, well watered by permanent stream.

Land in Wellington Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, up to 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 27th June, 1938.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 29th June, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Kaitieke County.—Hunua Survey District.

SECTIONS 3 and 4, Block V: Area, 388 acres 2 roods 29 perches. Capital value, £840.* Deposit on deferred payments, £40: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £26. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £16 16s.

*Improvements included in capital value are: felling and grassing £362; part value of house, £90.

Weighted with £1,160 for improvements, comprising dwelling and outbuildings, wool-shed, two sheds, 40 chains road-fencing, 230 chains boundary-fencing, 158 chains subdivisional-fencing, felling and grassing, cultivation, and roading. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £160, the balance may be secured on first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation of New Zealand for term of thirty-five years at interest 4½ per cent. reducible to 4¼ per cent. for prompt payment, the gross half-yearly instalments of principal and interest being £28 19s. 6d.

This property is situated on the Makokomiko Road, three miles from the Piriaka Post-office and Railway-station, eight miles from the Taumarunui Saleyards, and three miles from the Kaitieke Dairy Company, the access being by metalled road from Piriaka. The soil is light loam resting on clay and papa formation and is watered by streams. About 368 acres has been felled and grassed, the remaining 20 acres being swamp land, and of the total area 250 acres are ploughable, while the balance is undulating to hilly. The property comprises a good mixed farm proposition.

The land is subject to a right of way through Section 4 in favour of the owner of Section 5 adjoining.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, on Thursday, 14th July, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

SECTIONS 1 and 2, Square 144, Block XI: Area, 84 acres 2 roods 13 perches. Capital value, £125; half-yearly rent, £2 10s.

Weighted with £264 (payable in cash) for improvements, consisting of four-roomed dwelling and outhouse, cow-shed, and 50 chains fencing.

These sections are situated at the mouth of the Mokihinui River, opposite the Waimarie Post-office, half a mile from school, one mile from Mokihinui Railway-station, twenty-six miles from Buller Valley Dairy Factory, and fifty-eight miles from Inangahua Junction Saleyards. Access is from
