HUNTLY BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Huntly Borough Water-supply Loan, 1937, £14,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, the Huntly Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the repayment and other charges and interest on a loan of £14,500 (fourteen thousand five hundred pounds) to be known as the ‘Huntly Borough Water-supply Loan, 1937,’ authorized to be raised by the Huntly Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing the cost of a water-supply for the borough, the Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2¾d. (twopence and three-eighths pence) in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Borough of Huntly, and such rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Featherston County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Featherston County Featherston–Longwood Water-race Loan of £800, 1937, authorized to be raised by the Featherston County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting new headworks, intake and sand-trap, and connecting race, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Featherston–Longwood Water-race District as defined in the Third Schedule to the Featherston County Water-race Districts Validation Act, 1935, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 15th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Featherston County Council held at Martinborough on 8th March, 1938.

Creditors Voluntary Winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that in compliance with section 300, subsection (7) of the Companies Act, 1908, on the 21st day of March, 1938, the following resolution was passed :—

“That it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up. It is hereby resolved that the company be would up voluntarily.”

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and of SERVICE PUBLICATIONS, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

THE liquidator of Service Publications, Limited, which is being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix Monday, the 11th April, 1938, as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title which they may have to priority under section 258 of the Act or be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved, or, as the case may be, objecting to such distribution.

Notice of Voluntary Winding-up Resolution.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of COOK AND ROSS, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to section 222 that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened and held on the 4th day of April, 1938, the following special resolution was passed :—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. W. H. NICHOLLS, of Christchurch, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

N.B.—The above resolution is pursuant to a scheme of reconstruction of the company. The retail business of chemists and druggists will continue to be carried on by Mr. Barnard Owen at Cook and Ross’s Corner, and the wholesale business will be carried on as a separate company by Mr. Wilfred Owen.
