The Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22.—Fixing the Closing-hours of Florists’ Shops within the Combined District of Wellington.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the florists’ shops within the combined district of Wellington, comprising the City of Wellington and the Town District of Johnsonville, has been forwarded to me desiring that all such shops within the said combined district be closed on the evening of working-days as follows :—

On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6.30 p.m., on Fridays at 9 p.m., and on Saturdays at 7 p.m., with the following exception :—

On the working-days immediately preceding Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and Good Friday, the closing-hour shall be 10 p.m. :

And whereas, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said combined district :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 28th day of March, 1938, all the said shops within the said combined district shall be closed accordingly.

Approval of Testing Officer under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations 1931.

IN terms of Regulation 5 of the Motor-Drivers’ Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the person named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Excluding Portion of a Road from Limitation as to Speed imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby exclude the road described in the Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

SCHEDULE.

SITUATED within Mount Maunganui Town District—
Papamoa–Mount Maunganui Main Highway No. 411 (all that portion commencing at the southern boundary of Mount Maunganui Town District, as now constituted, and terminating at a point 1½ miles measured along the road in a north-westerly direction from the said boundary).

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE.

SITUATED within Murchison County—
All that area at Murchison adjoining and comprising the Nelson–Inangahua Junction Main Highway commencing at a point 2 chains measured along the road in an easterly direction from its junction with Grey Street and terminating at the junction of the said main highway with the Murchison–Reefton Main Highway, a distance of approximately 62 chains.

Notice as to an Area in North Auckland Land District declared to be a Fire District.

State Forest Service,
Wellington, 7th March, 1938.

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, and section 6 of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925, I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district, the area described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared by me to be a fire district ; and I do further specify the period from the 16th day of October in any year to the 15th day of April in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations or any land-clearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

Warawara Forest Fire District.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Hokianga County, containing approximately 25,670 acres, situated in Blocks V, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, and XV, Whangape Survey District, and Blocks I and II, Hokianga Survey District, and bounded generally as follows : Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 2, Block V, Whangape Survey District ; thence towards the east by Sections 2, 3, and 4, Block V aforesaid, Sections 61B, 61A, 62, 63, and 65B of Whakarapa Block, Sections A 41, Part A 40, A 37, A 33B, A 33A, and 17A of Waihou Lower Block to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section ; thence towards the east, south-east, and south by a road passing through Waihou, Lower Waireia, Wairoa, Matihetihe, and Moetangi Blocks to the Tasman Sea ; thence towards the south-west generally by the Tasman Sea to the southernmost corner of Whakarawerua A 2c Block ; thence towards the north-west by Sections A 2c and A 3 of Whakarawerua Block, Section A of Pakinga Block, a road, Section B 1 of Pakinga Block, Sections 1K, 1L, and 1J of Paihia Block, a School Reserve, Sections 1G No. 1, 1G 2E, and 1G 2D of Paihia Block, a road, Sections 2G No. 1, Part 1D 11, and Part 1D 12 of Paihia Block, and the Roto-kakahi River : thence towards the north by Sections 10 and 11, Block VIII, Whangape Survey District, Sections 46 and 1, Block III, Whangape Survey District, and a road to the north-western corner of Section 2, Block V, Whangape Survey District, the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked 4/11, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
