Land taken for the Purposes of a State Highway Depot in Block XIII, Oxford Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a State highway depot; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fourteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 98222, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 9th day of March, 1938.

Land in the Westland Land District proclaimed as ceasing to be set apart as National-endowment Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and two of the Land Act, 1924, as amended by section ten of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1926, it is enacted that on the disposal of any national-endowment land by way of sale, or on the acquisition of the fee-simple of any such land, the Governor-General may by Proclamation declare that such land shall, as from a date to be specified in the Proclamation, cease to be national-endowment land :

And whereas the fee-simple of the land described in the Schedule hereto (being land heretofore held on a license issued under the regulations for the occupation of pastoral lands within the Karamea and Westland Mining Districts) has been acquired, and it is expedient that the said land should cease to be national-endowment land :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the aforesaid section three hundred and two of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the twenty-eighth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, the land described in the Schedule hereto, which was set apart as national-endowment land under the provisions of section two hundred and fifty-eight of the Land Act, 1908, shall cease to be national-endowment land.

Adding a Constituent District to and Re-apportioning Representation on the Thames Valley Electric-power Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of October, 1937.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby add the Borough of Waihi as a constituent district of the Thames Valley Electric-power District, and doth hereby determine that on and after the dates of the next general elections of the representatives of the constituent districts of the Thames Valley Electric-power District, the number of representatives of each constituent district on the Thames Valley Electric-power Board shall be the number specified in the Schedule hereto opposite the name of that constituent district; and doth further determine that the constituent districts which are bracketed together in the first column of the Schedule hereto are hereby constituted combined districts for the purposes of the said Act, and that the principal local authority of each such combined district shall be the local authority of the constituent district distinguished in the first column of the Schedule hereto by the letter “(P)”.

Appointing New Trustees in respect of Native Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of March, 1938.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS on the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, did consent to the appointment by Moanaroa Pere, the sole survivor of the persons referred to as “the Assignors” in the Deed of Trust dated the fourteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, and referred to in section forty-seven of the Maori Land Claims Adjustment and Laws Amendment Act, 1907, of himself, the said Moanaroa Pere, Charles Alfred Smith, of Gisborne, Accountant, and Heathcote Beetham Williams, of Gisborne, Sheep-farmer, to be the trustees of the Trust created by the above-mentioned deed in lieu of Henry Cheetham Jackson and Hetekia te Kani Pere, both deceased :

And whereas the said Moanaroa Pere died on the third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five :

And whereas each of the surviving trustees has expressed his desire to resign his office of trustee :

Now, therefore, pursuant to the provisions of subsection two of section sixty-one of the Native Purposes Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby,
