Members of Domain Boards appointed.
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 23rd February, 1938.
HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased,
in pursuance of section 49 of the Public Reserves,
Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, to make the following
appointments :-
James Johnson,
to be a member of the Te Aroha Sports Domain Board in
place of John Benjamin Johnson, resigned.
Robert Ford Henstridge,
to be a member of the Waitaki North Domain Board in place
of Edward Patrick Lavery, deceased.
Stanley Allen Kane, and
Walter John Hunt
to be members of the Luggate Domain Board in place of
Robert Lawrence Gillespie, absent from three consecutive
meetings, and William Robert Geddes Todd, left the district.

Members of Survey Board appointed.
Department of Lands and Survey,
Wellington, 1st March, 1938.
PURSUANT to the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by section 3 of the Surveyors Registration Act,
1928, I, Frank Langstone, Minister of Lands for the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby appoint as from the 1st day of
January, 1938, the undermentioned persons to be members of
the Survey Board constituted by the said Act :-
George Henry Bullard,
Maurice Crompton-Smith,
Archibald Hugh Bogle, and
Charles Kirkpatrick Grierson,
the last-mentioned two persons having been nominated by
the Surveyors’ Institute as required by the said Act.

Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioners have made the following
appointments in the Public Service :-
John Stewart Wares,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of
Brunner, as from the 14th day of February, 1938.
Samuel Harry Brown,
to be receiver of Land Revenue for the Gisborne Land District
for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, as from the 14th day
of February, 1938.

Withdrawal of Dangerous Drugs prohibition in respect of
Registered Medical Practitioner.
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Dangerous Drugs
Act, 1927, and clause (11) of Regulation 7 of the
Dangerous Drugs Regulations, 1928, I, Peter Fraser, Minister
of Health, acting on the recommendation of the Medical
Council, do hereby withdraw the prohibition dated the 5th
day of March, 1935, and published in the Gazette on the
14th day of March, 1935, at page 679, whereby Graham
Campbell MacDiarmid, registered medical practitioner, of
Russell, was prohibited from issuing prescriptions for the
dispensing of dangerous drugs.
Given under my hand at Wellington, this 23rd day of
February, 1938.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 25th February, 1938.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Feather-
ston Borough Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF FEATHERSTON.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of
the Borough of Featherston, taken on the 3rd day of February,
1938, on the proposal of the Featherston Borough Council
to borrow the sum of two thousand five hundred pounds
(£2,500) for making additions and improvements to the
borough water-supply system :-
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 75
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Palmerston
North City Council, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL.
In pursuance of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of
the City of Palmerston North taken on the 16th day of February,
1938, on the proposal of the Palmerston North City Council
to borrow the sum of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) for the
purpose of relaying the main sewer in College Street, Botanical
Road, and Ferguson Street, and to purchase all materials
required in connection therewith :-
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 330
The number recorded against the proposal was 168
I therefore declare that the above proposal was duly
carried.

Harbour Improvement Loan, 1937, £242,000.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers
of the Timaru Harbour District taken on the 9th day of
February, 1938, on the proposal of the Timaru Harbour
Board to borrow the sum of two hundred and forty-two
thousand pounds for harbour improvements :-
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 2,834
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 734
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
