Extension of Time for Preparation of Ratepayers’ List for Eureka Drainage District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of March, 1938.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided, inter alia, by section six of the Land Drainage Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), that the Returning Officer of every Drainage Board shall, on or before the thirty-first day of January in every year in which a triennial general election is to be held, cause to be made out a list, to be called the “ratepayers’ list,” containing the particulars prescribed by section six of the said Act :

And whereas the ratepayers’ list (hereinafter referred to as “the said list”) in respect of the Eureka Drainage District for the year now current was not made out within the prescribed time :

And whereas it is desirable to extend the time for making out the said list :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, as amended by section twenty-two of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby extend until the fifteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, the time for making out the said list.

Authorizing the Purchase by the North Auckland Electric-power Board of certain Electrical Works the Property of the Kamo Town Board.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 23rd day of February, 1938.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the purchase by the North Auckland Electric-power Board of the several electrical works and undertaking, the property of the Kamo Town Board, described in a deed dated the ninth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, between the North Auckland Electric-power Board of the one part and the Chairman, Commissioners, and Ratepayers of the Kamo Town District of the other part, subject to the condition that the terms of such purchase shall be those set forth in the said deed and the award of the valuers, dated the twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, so far as the same relate to the purchase of electrical works.

Officer authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that William James Forsyth, being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of District Public Trustee at Nelson, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 23rd day of February, 1938.

Land set apart in the Gisborne Land District as an Addition to a Public School Site.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section thirty-three of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, or of section twenty-two of the first-mentioned Act, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserves or endowments :

And whereas the Land Board of the Gisborne Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as an addition to a public school site, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation :

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto as an addition to a public school site (Koro Koro).


SCHEDULE.

GISBORNE LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 7 (formerly part section 15), Block X, Taramarama Survey District : Area, 1 rood 30·6 perches, more or less. (Gisborne plan C.P. 3984.)

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Whangarei Borough Council.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Whangarei Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.

CORONATION SCENIC RESERVE.—NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Whangarei County and Whangarei Borough, situated in Block XII, Purua Survey District, containing by admeasurement 117 acres 1 rood 39 perches, more or less, being part Horahora No. 2 Block, part Te Wharowharo No. 1 Block, and Kirikiri No. 5 Block, and bounded as follows : Towards the north generally by Allotment S. 77, Whangarei Parish, 3138·0 links; towards the north-east generally by Lot 3 on D.P. 13936, Lot 3 on D.P. 19974, and Lot 167 on D.P. 597, all being subdivisions of part Allotment 1, Parish of Whangarei, 1551·9 and 783·3 links; towards the south-east generally by Valley Road, 1032·5, 387·2, 357·5, 429·0, 436·7, 411·6, and 100·0 links, Lot 92 on D.P. 2605, being a subdivision of part Te Wharowharo No. 2 Block, 54·47 links, and Lots 4, 3, 2, and 1, on D.P. 16579, being a subdivision of part Te Wharowharo No. 2 Block
