Officers authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Notice of Intention to issue an Order in Council revoking the Reservation for Recreation Purposes over a Reserve in Town of Ohakune Extension No. 1, Makotuku Survey District, Wellington Land District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor-General may, from time to time by Order in Council, revoke the reservation over any public reserve or part thereof, and thereupon the land comprised therein shall, if vested in the Crown or in any local authority or trustees deriving title from the Crown, become Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924 :

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for recreation purposes, but is not required for that purpose, and it is expedient to revoke the reservation over the said land :

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection two of section seven of the said Act, that it is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of subsection one (b) of section seven of the said Act, declaring that the reservation for recreation purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be cancelled.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTIONS 1 to 14, Block VII, Town of Ohakune Extension No. 1, Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District : Area, 3 acres 2 roods 28 perches, more or less. (S.O. plan 170/37.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 16th day of February, 1938.

Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Canterbury Land District for other Land.

GALWAY, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange :

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

Canterbury Land District.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 8·7 perches, more of less, being part of Rural Section 589, Block III, Christchurch Survey District, and bounded as follows : Towards the east, north-east, and south-east by other part of Rural Section 589, 1019·1 links, 1280·15 links, and 50 links respectively ; towards the south-west by Rural Section 419, 1280·1 links ; towards the west by other part of Rural Section 589, 744·6 links ; and towards the north-west by the Main North Railway, 320·2 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/951A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

Canterbury Land District.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 34·1 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section 1527, Block III, Christchurch Survey District, and bounded as follows : Towards the north-west by other part of Rural Section 1527, 781·77 links ; towards the north-east by Marshlands Road, 27·27 links ; towards the south-east by a public road and Rural Section 26420, 781·8 links ; and towards the south-west by Rural Section 811, 27·27 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/951B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of February, 1938.
