Royal New Zealand Air Force.—Unit redesignated.

Air Department,
Wellington, 22nd December, 1937.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve, under section 3 of the Air Force Act,
1937, that No. 2 (Bomber) Squadron, New Zealand Air Force
(Territorial), be re-named “The Wellington Territorial
Squadron, Royal New Zealand Air Force,” with effect from
30th November, 1937.

Appointments and Promotions of Officers of the N.Z. Regular
Forces.

Department of Defence,
Wellington, 23rd December, 1937.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments and promotions
of officers of the New Zealand Regular Forces :-

STAFF.

Colonel R. Miles, D.S.O., M.C., Regiment of N.Z. Artillery,
relinquishes the appointment of Officer Commanding,
Northern Military District, Auckland, and is seconded for
attachment at the War Office, and to attend the Imperial
Defence College. Dated 20th November, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) O. H. Mead, D.S.O.,
N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant
and Quartermaster-General, Army Headquarters, Wellington, and is appointed Officer Commanding, Northern
Military District, Auckland, and retains the temporary
rank of Colonel whilst so employed. Dated 21st November,
1937.

REGIMENT OF ROYAL N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Colonel) R. Miles, D.S.O., M.C., to
be Colonel. Dated 19th July, 1937.

Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the following appointments, promotions,
transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand
Military Forces :-

STAFF TO HIS EXCELLENCE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.

Colonel I. T. Standish, C.M.G., D.S.O., Regiment of Royal
N.Z. Artillery, on his appointment as Aide-de-Camp
(Additional) to His Majesty the King, relinquishes his
appointment as Honorary Aide-de-Camp to His Excellency
the Governor-General. Dated 31st March, 1937.

STAFF AND COMMANDS.

Major R. S. Park, Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of Staff Officer, Artillery, Army
Headquarters, and is appointed Commander, Royal N.Z.
Artillery, Army Headquarters, and is granted the temporary
rank of Lieutenant-Colonel whilst so employed. Dated
1st November, 1937.
Major (temp. Lieutenant-Colonel) R. S. Park, Regiment of
Royal N.Z. Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of
Commander, Royal N.Z. Artillery, Army Headquarters,
and the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, and is
appointed District Artillery Officer, Central Military
District. Dated 14th December, 1937.
Major G. B. Parkinson, Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery,
relinquishes the appointment of District Artillery Officer,
Northern Military District, is appointed Commander,
Royal N.Z. Artillery, Army Headquarters, Wellington, and
is granted the temporary rank of Lieutenant-Colonel
whilst so employed. Dated 15th December, 1937.
Captain (temp. Major) F. N. Nurse, Australian Staff Corps,
arrived in New Zealand on 29th November, 1937, on
exchange, and is attached to the Regiment of Royal N.Z.
Artillery. He is appointed District Artillery Officer,
Northern Military District, Auckland, and is granted the
local rank of Major whilst so employed. Dated 15th
December, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel J. McPherson, O.B.E., relinquishes command of the 3rd Composite Battalion and is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 11. Dated 10th
November, 1937.

N.Z. REGULAR FORCES.

Appointments to Commissions, dated 15th December, 1937 :-
Archibald Russell Currie, B.E., to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Staff
Corps.

The undermentioned Staff Cadets on graduation from the
Royal Military College of Australia are appointed as follows :-
Leonard Whitmore Thornton, to be Lieutenant, Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery.
Herbert Ellery Gilbert, to be Lieutenant, Regiment of
Royal N.Z. Artillery.
Neville Boaz Cowper, to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Staff
Corps.
Errol Wallis Stevenson Williams, to be Lieutenant,
N.Z. Staff Corps.

The undermentioned members of the New Zealand Permanent Staff and Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery
are appointed as follows :-
John Albert Worsnop, to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Staff Corps.
John Dickinson Armstrong, to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Staff
Corps.
Philip George Monk, to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Staff Corps.
Leslie Neil McKay, to be Lieutenant, Regiment of Royal
N.Z. Artillery.
Robert Henry Perrett, to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Staff

Henry Hall McDonald, to be Lieutenant, N.Z. Staff
Corps.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain F. R. Husband, N.Z. Corps of Signals, is attached
under the provisions of paragraph 141, General Regulations,
1927, and is posted to the 13th Heavy Battery. Dated
1st December, 1937.
Lieutenant D. E. D. Malins, 2nd Medium Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 4. Dated
26th November, 1937.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants :-
O. G. Wiles, 3rd Field Battery. Dated 1st December,
1937.
J. R. Stone, 21st Field Battery. Dated 1st January,
1938.
Harold William Paice, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is
posted to Brigade Headquarters, 1st Field Brigade.
Dated 26th August, 1937.
John Nelson Stancombe, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is
posted to the 8th Field Battery. Dated 26th August,
1937.
Laurence George Williams, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is
posted to the 2nd Medium Battery. Dated 28th
August, 1937.
Robert Lewin Walton, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is
posted to the 3rd Field Battery. Dated 31st August,
1937.

N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.

Lieutenant F. R. Husband, Northern Depot, to be Captain.
Dated 1st August, 1935.
Captain F. R. Husband, Northern Depot, is attached to the
Regiment of N.Z. Artillery. Dated 1st December, 1937.
Douglas McNeil Burns, B.Sc., to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is posted to the Northern Depot. Dated 1st
October, 1937.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY'S OWN).

Lieutenant R. W. Adams, 1st Battalion, is transferred to
the Hauraki Regiment. Dated 22nd November, 1937.

THE HAURAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant R. W. Adams, from the Auckland Regiment
(Countess of Ranfurly's Own), to be Lieutenant, with
seniority from 12th September, 1932, and is posted to
the 1st Battalion. Dated 22nd November, 1937.
Lieutenant H. E. Gaulton, from the Reserve of Officers, the
North Auckland Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority
from 1st January, 1934, and is posted to the 1st Cadet
Battalion. Dated 29th November, 1937.

THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.

The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants (on probation),
and are posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 26th
November, 1937 :-
