WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and its amendments, the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes at Edinburgh Terrace and Russell Terrace in the City of Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the first, second, and third schedules hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Public Office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said City, and is there open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or by the taking of such land, should if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Wellington City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington containing 0·84 perches, being part Town Section 1084, including “Reserve” on Deposited Plan 165, the said piece of land being coloured red on the plan above mentioned.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington containing 0·16 perches, being part of Town Section 1082, coloured blue on the plan above mentioned.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington containing 0·18 perches, being Lot 15 on Deposited Plan 11073, and part of Town Section 1082, coloured orange on the plan above mentioned.

NOTICE is hereby given that by memorandum signed for entry in the minute-book of the above-named company pursuant to section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, and dated the 23rd day of January, 1937, it was resolved as a special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily. Dated this 26th day of January, 1937.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 300 (7) of the Companies Act, 1933, at the office of Stainton and Co., Limited, Commercial Bank Buildings, Devon Street, New Plymouth, on Monday, the 8th day of February, 1937, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs, together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims, will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and, in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 28th day of January, 1937, the following resolution was duly passed by the company as an extraordinary resolution by a memorandum signed for the purpose of becoming an entry in the minute-book of the company as provided by subsections (l) and (3) of section 300 of the said Act :

  1. That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable that the company be wound up voluntarily.

  2. That in pursuance of section 235 of the Companies Act, 1933, Mr. PERCY VERNON ESMOND STAINION, of New Plymouth, Merchant, be and he is hereby appointed as liquidator of the company.

NOTICE is hereby given that The Glaxo Manufacturing Company (N.Z.), Limited, has changed its name to Glaxo Laboratories (N.Z.), Limited, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.
