Approval of Expenditure by the Wellington City Council of Compensation Moneys under the Thorndon Reclamation Act, 1921–22.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General in Council has been pleased to approve in terms of section 6 (4) of the Thorndon Reclamation Act, 1921–22, of the expenditure by the Wellington City Council from the balance of the compensation moneys held under that Act, for the purpose of providing recreation facilities for the City of Wellington of the sum stated opposite the purpose specified hereunder:—

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed in the Borough of Whangarei.—(Notice No. Ag. 3521.)

THE following special order made by the Whangarei Borough Council on the 29th day of November, 1937, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plant mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being a plant mentioned in the Second Schedule in the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council) is a noxious weed within the Borough of Whangarei.

Light under Overhaul.
Position: Lat., 35° 11′ S.; Long., 174° 20′ E. (approx.).
Details: The light will be discontinued for overhaul from the 19th to the 27th December inclusive, and replaced by a fixed white light, visible 8 miles. No further notice will be given.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.
I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—
(1) F. W. Livingstone for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at his store at Whananaki.
(2) C. M. Suckling, for permission to move the two petrol pumps at his store at Tai Tapu to the corner of his property facing the Main Akaroa Road and install one additional pump alongside.
(3) S. Matutinovich, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at a proposed new service station at Kaitaia.
(4) A. G. Mason, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at the Motor Camp, Paraparaumu Beach.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 23rd December, 1937. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.

Taking of Fish.
I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—
(1) L. Corbett, for a license to take fish at Maketu by means of a 15 ft. 9 h.p. outboard motor-boat using long and hand lines, and supplying the local market.
(2) C. S. Wright, for a license to take fish at Whakatane by means of the 42 ft. 44 h.p. launch using Danish seine-nets, and supplying the Whakatane market.
(3) T. Anderson, for a license to take fish at Port Chalmers by means of a 30 ft. 4 h.p. launch using set-nets and hand-lines, and supplying the Dunedin market.
(4) W. Walker, for a license to take fish at Opotiki by means of a 30 ft. 30 h.p. launch using hand-lines, and supplying the Opotiki market.
(5) A. V. Putan, for a license to take fish at Bowentown and Waihi Beach by means of a 15½ ft. 4 h.p. launch using long and hand lines, and supplying the Waihi market.
