Appointment of Officers under Part II of the Fisheries Act, 1908.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed

Peter Mackenzie, of Lake Wakatipu, and
George Herbert Shaw, of Lake Wakatipu

to be officers for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act, in respect of the Lakes District Acclimatization District.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :β€”

STAFF AND COMMANDS.

Major N. W. McD. Weir, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of General Staff Officer, Military Training and Staff Duties, G.H.Q., and Officer Commanding G.H.Q. Training Depot, Trentham, on proceeding to England as Officer Commanding, New Zealand Coronation Contingent. Dated 16th March, 1937.

Major A. E. Conway, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Staff Officer-in-Charge, No. 5 Regimental District, Wellington, and Brigade Major, 2nd N.Z. Mounted Rifles Brigade, and is appointed Commandant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 9th September, 1937.

Major L. G. Goss, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Staff Officer-in-Charge, No. 7 Regimental District, Napier, and Brigade Major, 2nd N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and is appointed Commandant, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 1st October, 1937.

Captain F. L. Hunt, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Staff Officer-in-Charge (temp.) No. 8 Regimental District, Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Taranaki Regiment, and Area Officer, Area 8A, New Plymouth, and is appointed Area Staff Officer, Area 5, Wellington. Dated 11th October, 1937.

Captain S. M. Satterthwaite, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, 1st Battalion, The Canterbury Regiment, and Area Officer, Area 10c, Christchurch, and is appointed Commandant, Southern Military District School of Instruction, Burnham. Dated 22nd September, 1937.

Captain R. J. D. Davis, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Chief Instructor, Small Arms, G.H.Q. Training Depot, Trentham, and is appointed Adjutant, Central Military District School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 28th September, 1937.

Captain D. T. Maxwell, N.Z. Staff Corps, having returned to New Zealand after undergoing a Course of Instruction at the Staff College, Camberley, and being attached to the War Office, ceases to be seconded, and is attached to Army Headquarters. Dated 29th September, 1937.

Captain A. H. L. Sugden, N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Instructor, Army School of Instruction, Trentham. Dated 28th September, 1937.

Lieutenant W. H. Alexander, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointments of Adjutant, Central Depot, N.Z. Corps of Signals, and Area Officer, Area 5A, Wellington, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, Area 8, New Plymouth. Dated 11th October, 1937.

Lieutenant-Colonel T. Paterson, v.d., The Waikato Mounted Rifles, relinquishes command of the Regiment and is posted to the Retired List with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 26th October, 1937.

Major K. W. Fraser, Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, is appointed to command the 18th Anti-Aircraft Battery. Dated 14th October, 1937.
