Appointing a Member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section
thirty-eight of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the
event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of an elective
member of a Harbour Board, other than a representative of a
constituent district, the Governor-General may, by Warrant
under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place :
And whereas James Leslie, an elective member of the
Lyttelton Harbour Board, being a representative of the
combined district of the counties of Tawera, Paparua,
Malvern, Springs, Ellesmere, Halswell, Selwyn, and Heathcote,
is deceased, and an extraordinary vacancy in the membership
of the Board has thereby been created, and it is desirable
to appoint a qualified person in his place :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore
recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint
Albert Ernest Langdale-Hunt
to be a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board as a repre-
sentative of the combined district aforesaid, in the place of
the said James Leslie, deceased.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 29th day of October, 1937.

and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person in his place :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-
recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint
John Kenneth McAlpine
to be a member of the Lyttelton Harbour Board as a repre-
sentative of the combined district aforesaid, in the place of
the said Walter Kenneth McAlpine, deceased.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 29th day of October, 1937.

Officer authorized to take and receive Statutory
Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by
the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices
of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell,
Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that
Harry Ernest Mitchell Hart,
being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the
office of Superintendent, Lake Coleridge Electric-power
Station, is authorized to take and receive statutory
declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of
the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 3rd day of November, 1937.

Member appointed to Mount Balloon Hut Scenic Board.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the tenth day of
December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six,
and published in the Gazette of the seventeenth day of that
month, the control of a certain reserve in the Nelson Land
District, known as the Mount Balloon Hut Scenic Reserve,
was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by
the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of
the Mount Balloon Hut Scenic Board, in pursuance of section
thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 : And whereas
it is desirable that Albert Wodkins Moverley should be
appointed a member of the said Board in place of James
Alfred Crawley, left the district ;
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the powers conferred on him, by section thirteen of the
Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and
authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint
the said
Albert Wodkins Moverley,
to be a member of the Mount Balloon Hut Scenic Board
constituted by the Warrant dated the tenth day of December,
one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, hereinbefore
referred to in place of the said James Alfred Crawley.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 3rd day of November, 1937.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Lands in the
Hawke’s Bay Land District for other Lands.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the
Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful
for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in
the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown
land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924,
in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any
such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality
of exchange :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it
is expedient to exchange the Crown lands described in the First
Schedule hereto for the lands described in the Second Schedule
hereto, and the owners of the lands described in the Second
Schedule have agreed to such exchange :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers
and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant
in fee-simple the areas of Crown land described in the First
Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the lands
described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LANDS AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
Hawke’s Bay Land District.
Lot 6, D.P. 6529, being part of Section 60, Block XIV,
Pohui Survey District : Area, 11 acres 0 roods 31 perches,
more or less.
Also Lot 10, D.P. 6529, being part Rural Section 9, Puke-
titiri Reserve : Area, 10-6 perches, more or less.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LANDS TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
Hawke’s Bay Land District.
Lot 13, D.P. 6529, being part of Section 60, Block XIV,
Pohui Survey District : Area, 9 acres 2 roods 1 perch, more
or less.
Also Lot 12, D.P. 6529, being part Rural Section 7, Puke-
titiri Reserve : Area, 20 perches, more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 5th day of November, 1937.
