NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore subsisting between FINLAY MACDAIRMID DOW and JOHN MUNRO, carrying on business as Farmers at Finegand, Balclutha, under the style or firm of “Dow and Munro” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 22nd day of September, 1937.
All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said Finlay MacDairmid Dow who will continue to carry on the said business.

CHANGE OF NAME.
I, IVAN ONSLOW ROBERT JOHN CRAVEN, of Frankton Junction, Engineer, heretofore called and known by the name of IVAN ONSLOW ROBERT JOHN KOFOED, hereby give public notice that on the 1st day of September, 1937, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the use of my said surname of “Kofoed” and then assumed and determined thenceforth on all occasions to use and subscribe the name of “Craven” instead of the said name of “Kofoed”: And that by deed-poll dated the 1st day of September, 1937, enrolled in the Supreme Court at Auckland I absolutely renounced and abandoned the said name of “Kofoed” and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions to use and subscribe the name of “Craven” instead of “Kofoed” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of Ivan Onslow Robert John Craven exclusively.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of the above-named company will be held at No. 408 N.Z. Insurance Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, the 9th day of November, 1937, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before the meeting showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the liquidator.

TEVIOT ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments, the Teviot Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,600 authorized to be raised by the Teviot Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Acts for extending the present electric-power works of its district, the said Teviot Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth of a penny (¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Teviot Electric-power Board comprising the whole of its district, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of this loan and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of eight years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify this resolution to be correct.

MAKERUA DRAINAGE BOARD.
Notice of Intention to take Land for Drainage and Flood Protection Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Makerua Drainage Board proposes under the provisions of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1928, and amendments, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf to execute a certain public work—namely, for drainage and flood protection purposes—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken : And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Board, situate Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North, and also in the public office of the Town Clerk to the Shannon Borough Council at Shannon, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Makerua Drainage Board addressed to the Clerk to the Board at his said office.
SCHEDULE.
(1) Approximate area of land to be taken : 60 acres 0 roods 30 perches, being portion of Manawatu-Kukutauki Nos. 2d 8, 2d 9, 2d 10, 2d 11, 2f and 2g, and Old River Bed, situated in Blocks VII and XI, Mount Robinson Survey District, shown in plan marked 3285 and edged red thereon, situated in the County of Horowhenua.
(2) Approximate area of land to be taken : 0·6 perches, being portion of Manawatu-Kukutauki 2d 10, situated in Block VII, Mount Robinson Survey District, shown on plan marked 3285 and coloured purple thereon, situated in the County of Horowhenua.
