IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the above-named company held on the
1st day of September, 1937, the following special resolution
was passed:

"That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that
GEORGE SAMUEL THORPE HARDEN, Public Accountant,
Wellington, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator for the
purpose of such winding up."

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly
Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly
Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this
31st day of August, 1937, cancelled the registry of Southern
Star Lodge, No. 119, of the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows of New Zealand, Friendly Society (Register
No. 146/169), held at Tokanui, on the ground that the said
branch has ceased to exist.

TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Te Awamutu
Borough Council proposes to execute a certain public
work—to wit, the construction of a public street—for which
purpose the following lands require to be taken by the said
Te Awamutu Borough Council under the provisions of the
Public Works Act, 1928 (that is to say), all that piece of land
containing 1 acre 0 roods 20.5 perches (more or less), being
part of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 on a plan deposited in the Land
Registry Office at Auckland as Number 16493, being portion
of Allotment 321 of the Parish of Mangapiko.
A plan of the land required to be taken as aforesaid is open
for inspection at the office of the Te Awamutu Borough
Council, Roche Street, Te Awamutu.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such
works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing
to the Te Awamutu Borough Council within forty days from
the date of the first publication of this notice.
Dated at Te Awamutu, this 3rd day of September, 1937.

MALVERN ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

MOTION TO STRIKE SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the
Malvern Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:
"That for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on the loan of £5,000 authorized to be raised by the
Malvern Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned
Act, and for the following purpose—namely, the additional
construction of electric works as defined by the Electric-
power Boards Act, 1925, by the Board within the district
pursuant to the powers vested in the Board by the said Act—
the Malvern Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate of thirty one-thousandths of a penny in the
pound upon the rateable value on all rateable property of
the said Malvern Electric-power District comprising all those
parts of the Counties of Selwyn, Malvern, and Tawera specified
in the New Zealand Gazette of the 28th day of June, 1923,
as constituting the Malvern Electric-power District, and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 30th
day of September in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan
is fully paid off."

"That the company be wound up voluntarily under the
provisions of the Companies Act, 1933, as at the 31st day
of August, 1937, and that Mr. HAROLD BOOTH, of Dunedin,
Accountant, be and the same is hereby appointed liquidator
of the company."

THE TAIERI RIVER TRUST.

NOTIFICATION OF SPECIAL ORDER.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the following resolution
intended to operate as a special order was passed at a
duly constituted meeting of the Taieri River Trust held on
Monday, the 2nd day of August, 1937, at the office of the said
Trust, Gordon Road, Mosgiel:

"That in pursuance of the provisions of the Taieri River
Improvement Amendment Act, 1932-33, and the River
Boards Act, 1908, the Taieri River Trust do now make and
levy a 'repayment' rate to produce in the aggregate the sum
of £5,256 2s. 5d. for the period commencing on the first day
of April, 1937, and ending on the thirty-first day of March,
1938, and that upon the passing thereof this resolution shall
operate as a special order."
And I, the undersigned, being the Clerk to the Taieri River
Trust, do hereby certify that the above resolution was duly
passed as aforesaid.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore
subsisting between VICTOR GORDON WATTS and
OSWELL CHARLES WATTS, carrying on the business of farmers
under the name or style of "Watts Brothers," of Ongaroto, has
been dissolved as from the 22nd day of November, 1934,
and that the business lately carried on by the partnership
will as from that date be carried on at the same address by
Victor Gordon Watts.
Dated at Ongaroto, this 4th day of June, 1937.

book the above-named company, on the 3rd day of
September, 1937, passed a resolution—
(a) For voluntary winding up.
(b) Appointing Mr. WILLIAM SAMUEL NEWBURGH, of
Christchurch, as liquidator.
And that a meeting of creditors of the above-named com-
pany will accordingly be held at the Chamber of Commerce
Library, Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, on Monday, the
13th day of September, 1937, at 11.30 o'clock in the forenoon.
