BOUNDARIES OF KAIKORAI RIDING.-COUNTY OF TAIERI.
COMMENCING on the sea-coast at the mouth of the Kaikorai Stream, and bounded towards the north-west by the Kaikorai Stream and Abbot's Creek to the Main South Road; thence towards the south by the Main South Road to the road forming the north-western boundary of Section 77, Block VII, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence towards the north-west by that road to the north-western boundary of Section 15, Block VI, aforesaid district, a closed road-line, across a road, and by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Sections 6 and 7, Block VI aforesaid; thence towards the south-west by Sections 7 and 4, Block VI aforesaid, and Sections 2 of I and 1 of 1, Block XIII, East Taieri Survey District; thence towards the north generally by the road forming the southern boundary of Sections 1 to 8 and 65, Block IV, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence again towards the south-west by the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 65 aforesaid to the south-western corner of Section 31, Block V, aforesaid district; thence again towards the north by Sections 31, 2 of 32, and 1 of 32, Block V aforesaid, to the north-western corner of Section 30, Wakari Survey District; thence towards the east generally by Section 30 aforesaid, by and across a road, Sections 28, 21, Wakari Survey District, Section 5, Block X, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, across a road, and by that road to Section 58, Block VI, aforesaid district, Sections 58, 59, Block VI aforesaid, Section 129, Wakari Survey District, Sections 15, 16, 17, 18, Lower Kaikorai Survey District, to the Kaikorai Stream, by the right bank of that stream to Section 17 aforesaid, and that section to the boundary of Town Survey District, and by that boundary to Section 42, Block VI, aforesaid town district, and by the western boundary of that section to the Main South Road, easterly along the middle of that road, to and along the middle of the road which runs southerly intersecting Sections 39, 36, Block VI aforesaid, to and along the middle of Corstorphine Road to Section 101R, Ocean Beach Survey District, and the south-western boundary of Sections 101R, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, across a road, the north-eastern side of a road, and the production of that road to the ocean; thence towards the south-east generally by the ocean to the place of commencement: excluding the Borough of Green Island.

Notice of Intention to take Additional Land in the City of Palmerston North for Housing Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and section 32 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Palmerston North, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land to be taken:- A. R. P. Being 4 2 28 Suburban Section 1021. 4 2 28 Suburban Section 1023. 4 2 28 Suburban Section 1027. 4 2 28 Suburban Section 1029.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 94569, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Te Makarini Scholarships tenable at Te Aute College, Hawke's Bay.
TWO scholarships of the yearly value of £35, tenable for two years, are offered for competition in the year 1937 among Maori boys on the conditions set forth in the Regulations of the Trustees of the Te Makarini Scholarships Fund. One of these scholarships, called the Senior Makarini Scholarship, is open to all Maori boys under sixteen years of age on the 1st December, 1937. The other scholarship, called the Junior Makarini Scholarship, is open to Maori boys who have been in regular attendance at Native schools and are under fourteen years of age on the 1st December, 1937. Candidates will be required to present themselves for examination at the nearest centre where the appropriate examination is being held.
Candidates must, either directly or through their teachers, send notice to the Director of Education, Education Department, Wellington, C. 1, of their intention to present themselves for examination. Such notice must be posted so as to reach the Department not later than the 13th September, 1937.
Copies of the regulations and forms of notice may be obtained from the Director of Education, Wellington, C. 1.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Monday, 20th September, 1937, at 2 o'clock p.m., under the Land Act, 1924.

HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT.-TOWN LAND.
Borough of Hastings.-Town of Hastings.
Lot 1 and part Lots 3 and 4 on Deeds Plan 789, being part Subdivision E, Heretaunga Block: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £750.
Lot 2 and part Lots 3 and 4 on Deeds Plan 789, being part Subdivision E, Heretaunga Block: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £750.
These sections are situated at the corner of Queen and Hastings Streets, Hastings, and are just outside the shopping area. They would be suitable either for business premises or dwelling-sites.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Monday, 20th September, 1937, at 2 o'clock p.m., under the provisions of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.
SCHEDULE.
HAWKE'S BAY LAND DISTRICT.
SECTION 627, Town of Napier: Area, 32.07 perches. Upset annual rent, £36.
The section is situated at the corner of Waghorne and Customs Streets, Port Ahuriri, and is suitable as a business site.
Abstract of Terms and Conditions of Lease.
(1) Term of lease, seven years from 1st January, 1938.
(2) If the land is not required by the Crown at the expiration of the term referred to in (1) the lessee to have the right of taking a new lease for a further term of seven years at a rental to be determined by mutual agreement or by arbitration in the event of dispute.
