Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the North Island of New Zealand.

THE North Island Representation Commission appointed under the Electoral Act, 1927, in pursuance of section 11 of the said Act, hereby publish for general information the following proposed boundaries of the electoral districts in the North Island; and, further, give notice that written objections to the same will be received by the undersigned, the Chairman of the said Commission, at the office of the Surveyor-General, Wellington, not later than noon on Monday, the 30th day of August, 1937, for consideration by the aforesaid Commission.

Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the offices of the several local bodies in the said North Island; of the Chief Surveyors at Auckland, New Plymouth, Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington; of the Chief Electoral Officer at Wellington; and of the several Registrars of Electors throughout the North Island aforesaid.

NORTH ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.

BAY OF ISLANDS.

Bay of Islands District comprises the existing Bay of Islands Electoral District less those portions of the Mangakahia, Wairua, Hikurangi, and Otonga Ridings of the Whangarei County lying to the north of the existing Bay of Islands Electoral District boundary, and to the south of the southern boundary of the Bay of Islands County, also less the Hikurangi Town District.

KAIPARA.

Kaipara District comprises the existing Kaipara Electoral District less the Mairetahi, Kumeu, and Pukeatua Ridings of the Waitemata County, also less that portion of the Takapuna Riding of the aforesaid county lying to the north of the existing Kaipara Electoral District boundary, also less that portion of the Kaukapakapa Riding of the aforesaid Waitemata County lying to the south of the Kaukapakapa River and Kaukapakapa Road, also less the Helensville Town District.

District. This district now includes that portion of the Mangakahia Riding of the Whangarei County excluded from the Bay of Islands Electoral District hereinbefore described, together with those portions of the Matahana, Kourawhero, and Puhoi Ridings of the Rodney County lying to the east of the existing Kaipara Electoral District boundary, also the Warkworth Town District and those portions of the Waimi and Kaukapakapa Ridings of the Waitemata County lying to the north of the existing Kaipara Electoral District boundary.

MARSDEN.

Marsden District comprises the existing Marsden Electoral District less the Warkworth Town District and those portions of the Matahana, Kourawhero, and Puhoi Ridings of the Rodney County together with those portions of the Waimi and Kaukapakapa Ridings of the Waitemata County now included in the Kaipara Electoral District hereinbefore described, also less Tiritiri Island. This district now includes those portions of the Wairua, Hikurangi, and Otonga Ridings of the Whangarei County together with the Hikurangi Town District now excluded from the Bay of Islands Electoral District hereinbefore described.

WAITEMATA.

Waitemata District comprises the existing Waitemata Electoral District less the Borough of Devonport. This district now includes the Mairetahi, Kumeu, and Pukeatua Ridings of the Waitemata County together with those portions of the Takapuna and Kaukapakapa Ridings of the aforesaid county excluded from the Kaipara Electoral District hereinbefore described, also includes the Borough of Birkenhead and the Helensville Town District.

AUCKLAND SUBURBS.

Auckland Suburbs District comprises the existing Auckland Suburbs Electoral District less the Borough of Birkenhead now included in the Waitemata Electoral District hereinbefore described. This district now includes that portion of the Borough of Mount Albert lying between the existing Auckland Suburbs Electoral District boundary and the western side of the Woodward and Richardson Roads.
