CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 13th July, 1937.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 30th August, 1937.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 1st September, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to assist financially. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of improvement loading.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LANDS.
Thames County.—Tairua Survey District.—Hauraki Mining District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.*)
SECTION 15, Block XIII: Area, 416 acres 1 rood 20 perches. Capital value, £105; half-yearly rent, £2 2s.
Weighted with £10 for improvements, comprising a whare, road-boundary-fencing, subdivisional fencing, and half-share in boundary-fencing, clearing and grazing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £10, the balance of £100 may be repaid over a period of five years by means of ten half-yearly instalments of £11 11s. each, principal and interest.
A grazing property suitable as a “run-off” area for a Hauraki Plains settler, situated on Omahu Road, six miles from Omahu Post-office and eight miles from Hikutaia School, Railway-station, and Dairy Factory; access is by the Omahu Track from the junction of the Thames-Paeroa main road. Located on the eastern slopes of the Coromandel Range, the land is hilly to broken in places. Approximately 60 acres felled and grassed (now wholly reverted), balance in natural state. Ragwort and blackberry require attention.
- After payment of the required deposit no rent will be charged for a period of three years provided that a sum equivalent to the concession granted is expended each year in effecting permanent improvements to the land.
NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

Coromandel County.—Whitianga Survey District.—Hauraki Mining District.
Section 5, Block IV: Area, 780 acres. Capital value, £285; half-yearly rent, £5 14s.
Weighted with £55 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising whare, implement-shed, and fencing.
A grazing property suitable for use in conjunction with an established farm in the neighbourhood, situated on Rangihan Road, eight miles from Coroglen Post-office, School, and landing, and twenty miles from Mercury Bay. Undulating to steep and hilly country all in natural state. Ragwort and blackberry require attention.
NOTE.—This section is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section will be offered for sale for cash or on deferred payments by public auction at the Lands Office, Rotorua, on Wednesday, 25th August, 1937, at 11.30 o’clock a.m., under the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Rotorua County.—Rotorua Survey District.
SECTION 30, Block VIII: Area, 35 acres 1 rood 10 perches. Upset price, £25.
Weighted with £25 (to be paid in cash) for improvements, comprising half-share in approximately 40 chains boundary-fencing.
A hilly to broken section, suitable for grazing, situated on side road off Hamurana Road, five miles from Ngongotaha Post-office and Railway-station. At present all in fern. Access by formed punice and metal road to within a quarter of a mile of section from Rotorua. Watered by small stream in gully. Not suitable as a separate holding, but could be used in conjunction with adjoining land.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, on Wednesday, 25th August, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

SECTION 30, Block XII: Area, 335 acres. Capital value, £335; half-yearly rent, £6 14s.
Weighted with £535 for improvements, comprising cow-byre and separator-room (concrete floor), 80 chains of subdivisional fencing, 36 chains of boundary-fencing, 32 chains of road-fencing, roads and bridges, 130 acres felled and burned, and 130 acres sown. This sum may be paid in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £17, £450 may be secured by mortgage under the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1929 (interest at 5 per cent., reducible to 4½ per cent.), payable over a period of 30½ years—half-yearly instalment £13 10s., and the remaining £68 secured on second private mortgage—interest at 5 per cent., term, two years.
