PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the Tauranga Development Scheme.

IT is hereby notified that the order of adoption as set out in the Schedule hereunder has been made by the Native Land Court under the provisions of the Native Land Act, 1931.

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—PICTON APPROACH.
Existence of Shoal.
Position: 054°, 5·2 cables from centre of Mabel Island. Lat., 41° 15′·9 S.; long., 174° 02′·8 E. (approx.).
Details: A depth of 6¾ fathoms, M.L.W.S., exists in the above position in the centre of a shoal lying about 090°–270°. The shoal, which has been swept, carries depths of from 7 to 9 fathoms elsewhere and is about one cable long and 0·3 cable wide.
The War Memorial at Picton just open with Broken Cliff Point (Chart No. 1509) leads over the 6¾ patch.

Notice to Mariners No. 21 of 1937.
Marine Department,

NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—DOG ISLAND.
Existence of Shoals.
Position: 058° 3·04 miles from Dog Island Lighthouse. Lat., 46° 38′·2 S.; long., 168° 28′·7 E. (approx.). Chart No. 2553.
Details: A shoal with a least depth of 4½ fathoms, M.L.W.S., exists in the above position. The shoal lies about 000°–180° and is about 500 ft. long and 100 ft. wide.
The following depths, reduced to M.L.W.S., exist in the locality :—
5½ fathoms, 061°, 2·52 miles from Dog Island Lighthouse.
5½ fathoms, 063°, 2·2 miles from Dog Island Lighthouse.
5½ fathoms, 063°, 2·7 miles from Dog Island Lighthouse.
6¾ fathoms, 065°, 2·9 miles from Dog Island Lighthouse.
6½ fathoms, 069°, 2·8 miles from Dog Island Lighthouse.

Notice to Mariners No. 22 of 1937.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 6th July, 1937.
NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—KAIPARA ENTRANCE.
(1) Amendment to Directions; (2) Bar-soundings.
Position: Lat., 36° 26′ S.; long., 174° 01′ E. (approx.).
(1) Amendment: Cancel first two paragraphs of Directions, page 262, New Zealand Nautical Almanac, and substitute the following :—
“When approaching the bar bring the rear beacon open a good two widths north of the lighthouse (lighthouse bearing 076°) and cross on this line; when 1 to 1½ miles inside the bar alter course to bring the rear beacon one good width north of the lighthouse which line will take a vessel midway between Tory Shoal and North Sandspit. Thence steer along the shore keeping midway between it and the shoal. Vessels should not attempt to cross the bar unless a safe anchorage inside Pouto Point or South Head can be reached before dark.”
(2) Bar-soundings: A least depth of 4¼ fathoms, M.L.W.S., was obtained on the 16th June when crossing the bar on the above line.
