doing all possible to eliminate all conditions that detract from
the value of skins, it is imperative that rock-damage be
obviated as much as possible. While it is realized that in
some cases some such damage is unavoidable, much can be
done during skinning to prevent further damage, and any
seriously damaged skins must not be submitted.
NOTE.—With a view to further assisting persons desirous
of shooting deer for commercial purposes, the Department of
Internal Affairs will supply 303 Mark VII military ammunition at 10s. 6d. per hundred rounds, freight payable by the
purchaser. The purchase-price must accompany all orders
for this ammunition, which may be obtained from the
Conservator of Fish and Game, Rotorua, or the Custodian,
Government Buildings, Wellington, Christchurch, Blenheim,
Nelson, Hokitika, Dunedin, or Invercargill.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 16th June, 1937.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section
is open for selection on renewable lease under the
Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the
District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to ll o'clock
a.m. on Monday, 26th July, 1937.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at
the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 28th July, 1937, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any
applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any
other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when
examined documentary evidence of their financial position,
such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit
from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile
firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to
give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist
financially should state to what extent they are prepared
to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the
examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is
required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit
comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent, and
lease fee.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Rotorua County.—Ngongotaha Survey District.—Ngakuru Block.
SECTION 39, Block V : Area, 144 acres 3 roods 27 perches.
Capital value, £430 ; half-yearly rent, £10 15s.
Improvements included in capital value comprise 12 acres
in permanent pasture, road-boundary and boundary fencing,
clearing, and ploughing.
The Ngakuru Block is situated approximately eighteen
miles south of Rotorua, access being by formed and metalled
road from Rotorua or Ngongotaha. Land therein is generally
undulating to hilly country broken by stream valleys and the
soil comprises pumice loam resting on pumice formation.
This is a partly improved section, suitable for dairying when
developed, situated on Waikite Valley Road, approximately
three miles from Ngakuru School and twenty-five miles from
Ngongotaha Dairy Factory and Saleyards.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS.
(1) The lessee must maintain existing pastures and any
further pastures laid down by adequate top-dressing and
stock control to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of
Crown Lands, Auckland. Each lessee will require to give
a first order on his cream cheques as a guarantee that the
top-dressing will be applied.
(2) The lessee must effectively eradicate and control any
growth or encroachment of ragwort on the section and road
frontages thereto.
(3) Fences protecting shelter-belts must be maintained in
a stock-proof condition by the lessee.
Breaches of Conditions 1, 2, and 3 will warrant forfeiture
of the lease irrespective of the fact that in other respects
the lessee has conformed with the terms of the lease.

will be offered for sale for cash or on deferred payments
by public auction at the Lands Office, Te Kuiti, on Wednesday, 28th July, 1937, at 11.30 o'clock a.m., under the Land
Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Waitomo County.—Te Kuiti Native Township.
SECTION 16, Block XI : Area, 3 roods 9.8 perches. Upset
price, £125.
Weighted with £325 for improvements, comprising a
dwelling of four rooms plus bathroom and kitchen. Garage
and washhouse detached. Town water-supply and electric
light laid on. Repairs to dwelling recently carried out.
This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit
of £25, the balance of £300 may remain on mortgage to the
State Advances Corporation payable over a period of twenty
years by means of quarterly instalments of principal and
interest combined with interest at rate ruling as at date of
selection, subject to a rebate of ¼ per cent. for payment of
the instalments on or before fourteen days after the due dates
thereof.
This is a residential section situated in Tonga Street,
about thirty chains from Te Kuiti Railway-station by a
formed road and footpath.

on Wednesday, 28th July, 1937, under the provisions of the
Land Act, 1924.

Wallace County.—Town of Danieltown.
SECTIONS 1, 2, 4, 21, 22, 23, and 24, Block II : Area, 3 acres
2 roods. Upset price, £35.
These sections are situated handy to Aparima Dairy
Factory and Gummie's Bush School. They consist of fair
quality agricultural land, all in old pasture and suitable for
mixed farming if worked with other land. Pastures are
neglected and gorse is spreading.
