NOTICE is hereby given that the leases and licenses of the undermentioned lands having been declared forfeit by resolution of the Land Boards of the respective land districts, the said lands have thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction for cash at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Building, Wellington, on Monday, 19th July, 1937, at 2.30 o'clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.--VILLAGE LAND.
Kiwiitea County.--Marshall Village (Block II, Apiti Survey District).
SECTIONS 46 and 48 : Area, 2 acres 2 roods 28 perches. Upset price, £12.
Situated near Kiwitea Stream, six miles from Rangiwahia. Although described as Marshall Village, there is no township on this site. No formed road access at present and some 10 chains of formation is necessary to gain access. The section is all level, at present in rushes and scrub, and the land is low-lying and wet in winter.
Note.--The attention of prospective purchasers is particularly drawn to the state of the access to the sections, and it must be clearly understood that the Crown accepts no responsibility for improving the existing access in any way.

Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section will be offered for sale for cash by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, State Fire Building, Christchurch, at 2.30 o'clock p.m. on Thursday, 22nd July, 1937, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.--TOWN LAND.
Ashburton County.--Town of South Rakaia (Block XIII, Rakaia Survey District).
RESERVE 1657 : Area, 1 rood 27 perches. Upset price, £20.
This area is situated on the Main North Road, Town of South Rakaia, with a frontage to Ferguson Street, is handily situated to the railway-station, post-office, and business portion of the town. The land is cleared and offers a fine building-site for residential purposes.

Land in Southland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Invercargill, 8th June, 1937.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, up to 4 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, 13th July, 1937.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, on Thursday, 15th July, 1937, at 10.30 o'clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year's rent, broken-period rent (if any), lease and mortgage fees, and deposit on improvements.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.--FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Southland County.--Oteramika Hundred.
SECTION 26, Block X : Area, 128 acres 2 roods 22 perches. Capital value, £260. Deposit on deferred payment, £15: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payment, £7 19s. 3d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £5 4s.
Weighted with £370 for improvements, consisting of dwelling with washhouse and bathroom, cow-byrne, 140 chains boundary and subdivisional fencing, 3 acres stumped, and 52 acres felled and grassed. This sum may be paid in cash or by a cash deposit of £10--balance to remain on mortgage for twenty years with interest at 5½ per cent.; half-yearly instalments of principal and interest, £14 19s. 1d.
The land is situated four miles from Gorge Road Railway-station, Dairy Factory, and School by good metalled roads. When further developed the property will be suitable for dairying. It comprises level to undulating land, divided into four paddocks, and was originally in bush--57 acres have been felled and 52 acres sown. The soil is partly loam of good quality and partly peat resting on a free-clay formation. The altitude is approximately 150 ft. above sea-level, The property is badly overgrown by ragwort, and rabbits have partially destroyed grass on the cleared portions.
